I am a Libertarian. Most taxes are voluntary, the price we pay to live in this country. But some taxes are theft. We are waging a war here in Texas right now with property tax increases that are taxing many people on low or limited incomes right out of their own homes.
The legality of abortion sets in the minds of the people that somehow it is no big deal and thus abortions do take place. All in all, life is cheapened and a death culture takes hold. At one time in this nation, mothers would gladly die so that their baby can live and sadly that is no longer the case.
You know, if the desire to legalize this procedure had been due a groundswell of public opinion and the people's representatives had been convinced to vote for it's legality, that would have been one thing. But no, this was shoved down the people's throats by the judiciary as a "constitutional right", when in realty there is no such right mentioned anywhere in the Federal compact.
And don't give me that "privacy" argument either, as the government can legally tell us what we can and cannot do to ourselves in all manner of instances. The legalization of the killing of unborn human babies belonged in the political process, not the courts.

Not quite. The predominant Libertarian position is that the FEDERAL government should stay out of it. It is a States Rights issue. Let the people of the states decide and let the rest vote with their feet.
I agree. I believe abortion on demand for any reason except the health of the mother is murder. But I make exceptions for protecting the physical health of the mother. But I cannot force my beliefs on others. Let each state decide where they want to stand.
That is one of the reasons I left California and came to Texas. I have much more liberty in Texas than in California, and it costs about 1/2 as much to live here. My real estate taxes in California, even with proposition 13 and homesteading, were still around $2,000 per year. Here in Texas my total real estate taxes are $53 per year. (I get a homestead exemption, a veterans exemption, and both my wife and I are over 65 so we get a senior exemption.)
The Libertarian position is really quite simple. We plan to take over the government and leave you alone.

I prefer value added taxes. You only pay for what you spend.

I am aware. I ran as Libertarian for Congress in 2014 and was in a televised staewide debate. Received 4% of the vote.
As I told a friend a few months ago I am a recovering libertarian.

I would love to see the Fair Tax instituted but the political lift is too much.
Taxes are theft when the monies collected are used for things not mentioned in the Constitution as a Federal government responsibility.

No, Moore is on the far right while Doug is in the mainstream of the Democratic Party, which is the far left. This rag of a newspaper is right with Doug Jones. Easy to argue RINOs like McConnell the center in this scenario. By the way, you wasted your money.
