You be the judge. This is a prediction given by the great media icon, Paul Harvey, some 50 years ago! Could he have been a prophet, or merely lucky? Give it a listen and tell me!

Watching it it seems clear it wasn't written 50 years ago so I looked it up and discovered this version of "If I Were the Devil" was written in 1996.

Sorry brother .... DID YOU EVEN BOTHER TO READ THE COMPLETE write up from Snopes?????
Next time, PUHleeese check your facts better. Or at least provide the complete story. Harvey did in fact deliver that commentary in 1966.

That's OK, Benjamin. I posted a chart showing the number of underemployed in the US, and he said my post did not account for the underemployed.Ahh, did you?! Here is the last sentence in the article clearly dates the video content YOU used as being from 1996, not 50 years ago! It even has the very video being spoken of right there at the bottom of the page with a caption which states that it is (often mistakenly identified as a broadcast from 3 April 1965".
"The following clip (often mistakenly identified as a broadcast from 3 April 1965) captures Paul Harvey's radio equivalent of his 1996 newspaper version referenced above: "
The article talks about how the content has evolved and even uses your video clip for an example.
So:
1: The facts were checked.
2. The words in the video were not from 50 years ago.
So sorry, but it seems to you that is mistaken about the timing of the words used in that clip. Wink
PUHleeese NOTE:
DOES NOT SEEM TO AGREE WITH:
...a statement of "prediction" and "prophesy" being made 50 years ago. Does it?
Laugh

Edit: 2015 - 1965 = 50. LOL

It was broadcast originally, on the radio, on April 3, 1965, it was conflated with the video portion in the 90's. If someone doesn't want to believe it that is their tough luck. Their unbelief does not change reality.
Thanks Rev!
I was not trying to say that the video attached to the audio portion was original.
You were presenting the idea that Harvey made predictions 50 years ago in the video and asking if it was prophesy, your words were if Harvey "was a prophet" which you based on these predictions being made 50 years ago! (which BTW, I find a strange way of putting it even if he did predict this 50 years ago), or asked if he was otherwise just lucky or what. The truth is the content in the video was NOT from 50 years ago, it in fact was related to current events 19 years ago when it was written. That the Rev doesn't recognize and/or comprehend what I objected to in the Op doesn't change the truth of the matter.
Paul Harvey was not a prophet unless every single 'prophecy' he ever proclaimed came true. Even one mistake makes him a false prophet.
I do not see that as being lucky, but rather a mouth piece of God, ...
I hope you feel vindicated.

I think that you are making a stretch.
Glad we were able to get to the bottom of you being mistaken although if I’d had known how offensive that is to you to admit it I probably would have let you rest in your ignorance rather than find myself in a situation where I’m tempted to aggressively rebuke your response to my judgment of the matter, which BTW you asked for.
Careful Benjamin. You're gonna get him and his posse to start calling all your posts dumb now. However will you survive?Glad we were able to get to the bottom of you being mistaken although if I’d had known how offensive that is to you to admit it I probably would have let you rest in your ignorance rather than find myself in a situation where I’m tempted to aggressively rebuke your response to my judgment of the matter, which BTW you asked for.
