I did not say people did not hold the doctrine. I said they were not Calvinists.
It is also within the Sovereignty of God to allow men to choose or refuse the grace of God.
ALL have already refused His grace, and He allows his own to receive it and get saved.
We are not His own until we believe
I have not claimed otherwise. But the Regenerating Grace of God is efficacious. If not, do you think your will is stronger than God's?

You miss the point. It was a joke. The doctrine that came to be known as "Calvinism" did not become "Calvinism" until post Calvin.

No. His book, The City of God was about the Church Universal which was used as a template by the Church of Rome to model their organization. He can't be blamed for the misuse of his writings by apostates.
And who believed? Those who had been ordained to eternal life.
he chose them first, gave them saving faith , and then placed them in the Body of Christ!

So you think Acts13:48 is wrong? "And when the Gentiles heard this, they were glad, and glorified the word of the Lord: and as many as were ordained to eternal life believed."
