That “seed money” scam really annoys me. Just looking at the freaks who preach that mammonist simony ought to be enough to repulse people, they act like idiots. They twist that, and say God wants you rich, and to get rich, you have to sow your seed in the kingdom. Sadly, they leave it it’s their kingdom, not God’s, they’re sowing into. Look at their mansions, suits, vehicles, private jets, &c. True story: I used to work with a lady who’s big into this. A couple years ago or so, she messaged me on FB wanting to know if they were hiring, as she needed to make extra money. I really wanted to ask her why she needed another job to make money when she had been sowing seed for years, but I didn’t. So if they name it claim it, blab it grab it, they can be rich. It’s a ponzi scheme.
That’s what I was referring to in the other post you quoted me. We need to look to the word for all our needs. It’s where our faith comes from. That “seed money” scam really annoys me. Just looking at the freaks who preach that mammonist simony ought to be enough to repulse people, they act like idiots.
The pastors live in mansions while preaching about a homeless guy named Jesus. Our Savior walked on foot, they fly in jets.
I am sorry but this sounds like made up gibberish, not any kind of language. And I hear the pastor or someone laughing at her! Here is a lady in our Pentecostal Holiness church speaking in tongues.
I came into a Pentecostal Holiness church in which I knew within my heart that I experienced the wonderful presence of the Holy Spirit. And it was like wow! I never had a feeling like that in all my days! But as my generation came up it was obvious that it was becoming something else. Our ministers have become more educated than they ever were but it is obvious that something very important is missing.I am sorry but this sounds like made up gibberish, not any kind of language. And I hear the pastor or someone laughing at her!
I used to speak in tongues for many years, but I gave it up because it seemed fake. I think the gift of tongues can exist, but I have never heard anything that sounded authentic in any churches. People just imitate what they hear others do. So it all sounds pretty much the same.
Did they forget about I Cor 14:26?Here is a lady in our Pentecostal Holiness church speaking in tongues.
Which means this was not Biblical Speaking in Tongues! There was no interpretation so the service continued into a well prepared sermon.
I Corinthians 14:27,28I would rather have no interpretation than one obviously out of the flesh.
So... There was no interpreter... So... She kept quite... How was she supposed to know that before hand?I Corinthians 14:27,28
If any man speak in an unknown tongue, let it be by two, or at the most by three, and that by course; and let one interpret.
But if there be no interpreter, let him keep silence in the church; and let him speak to himself, and to God.
She did not keep silent. She spoke in alleged tongues.So... There was no interpreter... So... She kept quite... How was she supposed to know that before hand?
You can pray in the spirit to yourself, but it will only edify yourself. One who speaks in a tongue edifies himself; but one who prophesies edifies the church.
— 1 Corinthians 14:4
One who is praying in a tongue should pray that they can interpret what God is giving them to pray. If he does, the tongue and the interpretation should be loud enough for the entire church. If no interpretation, pray in a tongue by yourself, to yourself. Therefore let one who speaks in a tongue pray that he may interpret. For if I pray in a tongue, my spirit prays, but my mind is unfruitful.
— 1 Corinthians 14:13-14
Again, a tongue edifies oneself without an interpretation. For you are giving thanks well enough, but the other person is not edified.
— 1 Corinthians 14:17
Prayer in the Spirit does not have to be with a tongue. It can be with groans.In the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words;
— Romans 8:26
Praying in the Spirit should be par for the course for Christians. With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints,
— Ephesians 6:18
Again, same edification as 1 Cor 14. Without interpretation, praying in the Spirit/Tongues is just building yourself up.But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit,
— Jude 20
however, in the church I desire to speak five words with my mind so that I may instruct others also, rather than ten thousand words in a tongue.
— 1 Corinthians 14:19
Yes, even if you have a prophetic word or tongues (or any other gift), you should not use it at expense of the church’s order and the flow of the body’s worship.(1Co 14:33 KJV) For God is not [the author] of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
When I was an atheist, I first encountered the Gospel [not the words, but people that actually believed what they were saying was real rather than "fire insurance"] was at a Catholic Charismatic Fellowship. Just for the record, they both spoke in tongues at their worship and they DID follow the rules of 1 Corinthians 14. Speaking in tongues was 1 at a time and nothing moved forward except prayer until there was an interpretation.BUT what I do know is that every person I ever spoke to about having speaking in tongues
was NOT aware of the rules of I Cor 14!
That is THE sign that this movement not of God, as the Holy Spirit would n ow have them stay in that Church if was really from HimOne correction to the article … there are Catholic Charismatics (the article implied it was only a Protestant movement).
