Per Obama, 2/3's of America Didn't Vote, and ......

..... it is the 2/3's that didn't vote that he heard and is going to respond to.

Well, I say that is great Mr. Obama; nevertheless, if you think that the mid-terms mean so little, why did you spend so much time out of the office raising money to support your party candidates? If the blacks, gays and Hispanics really loved you as much as you claim they all do .... you'd think they would have gone to the polls to support the initiatives and policies that you stated were up for election, and not the names of the people running for office, per se!

You would think that your supporters would have known that mid terms, which are historically low in turn out, needed their vote to keep the Democrat party in power? You'd think that more of them would have gotten up off their entitled rear-ends and made sure the Democrats not only retained their Senate power, but added to the state governorships up for election, especially those in Demorat leaning states?

You know what I think about your 2/3's argument? It was a lame as you will be the next 24 months or so! And furthermore, you don't know when you've been soundly beaten!

:flower: That is my view of Obama's view of the election .... so what do you think, about what I've said? :flower:

Regardless of the number, if things had gone in the Dem's favor they would be proclaiming "mandate" from the mountaintops.

The votes are in and the people have spoken! And what they are saying loud and clear is, "meh."

I think we show the world the sorry state of Democracy in America when only 1/3 of the voting age population bothers to vote. That is a good number by the way according to US News and World Report.

Well if more GOP turned out than Dems so that the GOP won but only 2/3rds voted (of course, the registration lists have millions of duplicates and dead people), then the Dems must have stayed home.

No wonder the best hope for the Dems is to get more Catholic/Hispanic votes with the help of the US Chamber of Commerce (so desperate for cheap labor).

If you don't like the way things are, go out there and win an election:

Is everything about race or hxmxsaxual with you? Why else would this qualifying sentence be in your post? This group of people comes nowhere near 2/3s of the electorate.

Since 1932, blacks, gays, and Jews have voted nearly unanimously Democrat and are the core constituency of the Democrats. So this news is nearly a century old. I think that Catholics have voted in the majority for the Democrats since before the Civil War. Hispanics are a two-fer--they vote Democrat and they settle for low wages, to the joy of both Dems and the US Chamber of Commerce.

Yes, and if everyone of these people that voted in 2012 would have gone out and voted last Tuesday, show me that the results would have been different. There are not enough of these folks to sway the election to the Democrats.

Perhaps. That is part of the reason that the Dems think that Hispanics/Catholics are the solution to their future rule as a majority party. However, the GOP is promising a court fight if Obama tries to make up law and give every person in the country a paper of American citizenship. Imagine how many terrorists would get citizenship.

Off topic, but amuse us. How many terrorists would get citizenship?

Don't you agree?

An infinite number? No, I don't agree. I think the last thing a terrorist wants is a social security number and his name recorded somewhere in the U.S. government archives.

Furthermore, Obama is not going to give citizenship papers to every illegal immigrant in the country.

 It means he's admitting it took but a minority number of voters to show up and kick his Donkey party out of controlling both the house and the senate. :tongue3:

That is true, but he needs to pay attention to the 1/3 that voted. They are the ones that are holding him accountable...

and will continue to do so.
