Misrepresentation. Don't learn what Jews believe from Nazis. Learn what Jews believe from Jews.
Anyone throughout all time and space could have heard of God as nothing is impossible with God. Everything Jesus taught was already being taught.
Jesus Christ didn't teach anything new he even gives a parable about this in "the parable of the evil farmers", He is just the best teacher.
Matthew 21
33“Listen to another parable. There was a landowner who PLANTED A VINEYARD AND PUT A WALL AROUND IT AND DUG A WINE PRESS IN IT, AND BUILT A TOWER, and rented it out to vine-growers and went on a journey.
34“When the harvest time approached, he sent his slaves to the vine-growers to receive his produce.
35“The vine-growers took his slaves and beat one, and killed another, and stoned a third.
36“Again he sent another group of slaves larger than the first; and they did the same thing to them.
37“But afterward he sent his son to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’
38“But when the vine-growers saw the son, they said among themselves, ‘This is the heir; come, let us kill him and seize his inheritance.’
39“They took him, and threw him out of the vineyard and killed him.
40“Therefore when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those vine-growers?”
41They said to Him, “He will bring those wretches to a wretched end, and will rent out the vineyard to other vine-growers who will pay him the proceeds at the
proper seasons.”
You have done meditation before just never would have called it so, you still do it though. Its any kind of great focus when you are in the zone. You are not particularly thinking about or daydreaming and focused on immediate actions.
The entirety of Buddhism for the most part is found in Matthew 6. If you actually put into practice what Jesus teaches in Matthew 6 you are practicing "BUDDHISM". We don't have to call it "Buddhism" but it IS what it IS.
People never actually practice what Jesus teaches, Folks just take it for granted and say yeah sure.
Example.
Matthew 6
22The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.
23But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great
is that darkness!
Buddhism teaches this as Right View. Now I see your profile pic you have glasses, It doesn't mean since you have bad vision you must be an evil person. He is clearly talking about how you perceive things.
This is where one can claim SEEING is BELIEVING in the bible. Notice plenty of people teach the exact opposite, backwards version. Because one is dark they see everything evil. Or unless internally you are enlighten only then you can see clearly. Won't hear your Calvinist brothers quote this one much.
The backwards version of what Jesus teaches. Jesus instead teaches get the vision clear first.....get rid of the plank in our own eye first.
Matthew 6
27Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?
Matthew 6
34Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day
is the evil thereof.
Jesus confronts you to stay in the present moment. Worrying about the future is not going make you live longer.
For example what are we going to wear tomorrow? what am I going to eat? He tells you God provides to birds and flowers and you are worth more than that.
Most people take Jesus teachings for granted. Yeah Jesus is right I shouldn't worry or fear about anything, amen, but that is it. They don't actually take it to practice.
I would challenge you to DO what Jesus says. This would be an actual expression of FAITH ALONE, actually relying on God, is walking the walk not just talking the talk.
What meditation does is shift you from the state of worry and whining to focus of listening closely and watching closely presently what is happening right this moment. Could you trust God with your problems? Could you believe God has all things covered?
Practice it.
