I believe that a person will lose their salvation if they turn away from God and decide they dont want to follow Him anymore.

But I also believe that a person doesnt have salvation to begin with if they havent made the decision to repent of their sins. You need to come to Jesus just as you are of course, but God will not forgive you if you do not repent when He shows you your sins.

Isa:55:7: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

I would say that you lose your salvation if you go back on what you just did before in Isaiah 55:7 and decide that you no longer want to forsake your evil ways.

Of course, however, the believer will fail over and over again, especially since we keep on getting clearer and clearer views of God and our repentence deepens. God will continually show us how we are different than the Pattern, Jesus, and help us to overcome. WHat Im saying is that just because you sin, that doesnt mean God tosses you away, we have an Advocate.

1Jn:2:1: My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous

One can turn away from God with one thing. To lie is not the will of God. God is truth. This is why sin is a transgression.

Transgression = the committing of acts or taking paths that violate a law, command, or to stand in opposition of Gods will

So if one were to lie does this mean that they have lost there salvation?

**Thinking of Judas** yes we can be lost with one sin, if we do not turn back, repent of it and confess our sin and turn back to God.

Just like we can do the worst of sins for a long period of time and if we confess and repent of it, turn back to God then we will be forgiven.


1Jn:1:9: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

THE KEY:

God wont be taking any rebels to Heaven.

Rom:8:
6: For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
7: Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

Think about the fact that it was ONE SIN that caused this entire problem. Rebellion aainst God.

OK..so what your saying ...if a person does not confess a sin, and repent each sin, they are on their way to hell, even if they once were saved?

NO not actually. We cant remembr each sin or even realize each sin we commit.

If we in heart at practicing known sin and turn away from God in rebellion then we are lost.

It has to do with the heart, James.

we cannot possibly remember or even know every sin we commit.

It all has to do with the heart and whether or not you have surrendered yourself to God or are in rebellion against Him.

ok...then those that do not know of Gods law...even though they sin...they are saved. For according to you...one must know they are sinning before it is a sin.

well thats always been debatable, I wouldnt presume to try to sit in judgment of anyone...

Rom:2:
14: For when the Gentiles, which have not the law, do by nature the things contained in the law, these, having not the law, are a law unto themselves
15: Which shew the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and their thoughts the mean while accusing or else excusing one another;)
16: In the day when God shall judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ according to my gospel.

Some say that a person has to have known about the gospel message or else they are lost... others say no...

I would say that I wouldnt want to presume to judge

So knowing the gospel..in your view has nothing to do with salvation. its all about if you sin or not. To you..salvation is a guessing game ...not knowing if you have left out a sin that needs confessed. As a matter of fact..why even have the gospel? if the gospel is not needed. why did God even send His Son?

If this is your view...the best thing for all of use to do...is to keep the bible out of the hands of those that never have heard the bible. for in the bible..we find Gods will...and if we know Gods will..the very acts we once did that was ok and not sin....would then be sins. so...it would be better if no one know of Gods law. in your view that is

just to add to what I said before about known sin... its kind of like when people on here always use the argument that the theif on the cross didnt get baptised so supposedly that means you dont have to.

But, HE COULDNT...

2Cor:8:12: For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.

I truly think that too many Christians view God in legalistic terms and all the while they think we are LOL!

in your view

the more sins we know about as sins to God...makes it harder to be saved. those outside the church has a better chance of being saved..

that is..in your view

Heb:10:22: Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.

so far i have asked if i'm understanding you right...and each time you say yes.

you said....each sin must be confessed...
you said....but if you do not know its sin...then it is not sin.
you said...the gospel is not needed

this is where your faith in works leads you. It is ridiculous.
