Yes, it is. The surplus is not sitting around in a bank account. It’s been spent in the general budget and is owed back to Social Security.

No its not it is being spent on people who are awarded SS who have never contributed to it.

Its probably true rev, last time I researched the issue $$ borrowed from "entitlement programs" must have T-Bill collateral to replace the "borrowed" $$.

So technically speaking because there is a T-Bill replacement the "borrowed" money is still there.

In true Orwellian fashion - Yes, the money is still there in the SS fund even though we replaced it with another "valid" currency.

I did not deny that SS funds are being misused, I denied that it was going to military spending.

OH, my bad - Yes I agree because our patriotic POTUS budgeted $700B this year and $715B next fiscal so we don't need to misappropriate anything!

China, Russia No. Korea, Iran and Syria and rest of the Jihadist world are WORRIED.

...on the other hand:

"Attorney General Jeff Sessions is using his legal expertise and his authority to aggressively implement President Donald Trump’s policy against illegal immigration, even as he is getting flak from the President for recusing himself from Democratic-cheered investigations into the President’s campaign and business activities.

The next step for Sessions, says source, is the release of federal regulations that will replace the 2015 Flores settlement which requires officials to release migrants within 20 days if they bring children with them over the border.

The catch-and-release settlement was created in 2015 by a judge, the ACLU, and officials working for former President Barack Obama, and it has forced officials to release hundreds of thousands of Central American migrants who bring their children into the United States.

But the pending Flores regulation is just one of several major regulatory changes which Sessions which are shutting the various border loopholes which were created by pro-migration judges, advocacy groups and agency officials over the last 20 years.

“These changes are really possible because Jeff Sessions is Attorney General,” said Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies. Krikorian continued:

He both knows what has to be done, and is committed to making sure it happens. A different AG, even if he means well, would be unlikely to have both the knowledge and commitment to get these kinds of change though, and that assumes he even wanted to do so. A [George W.] Bush-retread might not even be committed to the President’s agenda … What matters are the policy changes that we are seeing, not the investigative circus which dominates the news....."

Six Reasons Why AG Jeff Sessions is Trump’s Hammer in the Fight Against Illegal Migration

Sessions HAS been loyal to Trump in the area of illegal immigration.

Bottom line, I still waffle about Sessions. I've liked him and deep down don't want him to be a traitor. Who knows? Maybe there's something bigger to this story that is yet to come out.

To me, That's akin to saying "................but Hitler treated white people with blue eyes very well."

Then why is rhe “socialist fringe” having such a hard time winning Democratic primaries? I’ll tell you why - because most of us Democrats are center to center-left.
Very lioberal in repards to social agenda and policies though, correct?

Martin London, a lawyer who represented former Vice President Spiro Agnew, said that President Trump should resign from office to keep federal prosecutors from prosecuting his family.

"It’s only going to get worse,” London said Friday during an appearance on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

So in my opinion it appears that the Grand Inquisitor (Mueller) via orders of Pope Soros is putting the Inquisition into overdrive for the President by threatening our President's family and friends (via his mouthpiece Martin London) with social destruction and possibly imprisonment by a virtual conflagration of "investigations" of careers, public and private life.

This at the expense of millions of taxpayer dollars which implicates you and I as co-conspirators.

The Te Deum has begun. Will we stand by as the innocent are thrown into the flames.

A bi-partisanship national show of outrage to FIRE MUELLER has become necessary to stop the marxist wing of the DNC coup d'é·tat.

Of course this strategy may very well backfire as the general public actually see the innocent destroyed (if it is allowed).

Spiro Agnew lawyer: Trump should resign to keep Mueller from prosecuting his family
I am amazed at the gall. This man is admitting that the purpose of the investigations is to push the president out of office. To suggest the investigations go away if Trump resigns demonstrates support for a reckless abuse of power. Amazing!!!

well, about the 2 standards of justice, does ANY here really think If president Obama ha sbeen accused of anything liek this, it would have been made public by Media, much less having a Mueller to address it? look how they white washed Hiilary!

That is the part that really bothers me. Nothing in any indictments have anything even remotely to do with the actual topic of the investigation ... Russian influence in the 2016 election and accusations that Candidate Trump was engaged in criminal activities with the Russians. To search and find nothing but rake up whatever unrelated muck you can is inappropriate.

I remember President Bill Clinton having sex in the White House, committing perjury as a sitting president in a sexual harassment lawsuit against him, and the matter NOT rising to the level of an impeachable offense. What can they possibly discover in Trumps sex life that IS an impeachable offense by that standard!

When the courts execute a search warrent, has to be for a specifi thing/area/item, so if the police had warrent to search the home, but not the car, anything found in car not legit as evidence. Same way here, anyhting outside of specifically Russian Collusion shoudl be no go!

We don't know the official scope of the investigation. The judge in the Man*fort trial saw the documents related to the scope and let the trial go forward. Apparently, the official scope has always been greater than the collusion investigation.

Wonder how broad it would be without that fake Dossier?

No its not it is being spent on people who are awarded SS who have never contributed to it.

Actually, I believe you are both right. It has been spent. All that's in the trust fund now is Govt. IOUs and current unspent contributions to fund current obligations. However, some of that is being misspent on the people you mention making the annual shorfall even larger.

And when the government steals it and replaces it with an IOU, they spend it for whatever they pleas. there is not much doubt some of it goes toward military spending. With the deficits being run, it just about has to.
