Uh, no, that text does not so read. The text reads agnohmatw which here is translated "errors." If you do a work search in the NASB you will see the same word translated "sins."

The same Greek word appears 15 other times in the NT; below are the other 4 times it appears in the book of Mark. I am showing the KJV and NLT (as the OP did) along with the NIV and NASB for comparison --

The KJV consistently renders the Greek word xeraino (Strong's #3583, meaning to make dry) as "withered" or similar English term, such as "pineth" (which means to languish or waste away). All four versions seem to agree on the meaning at Mark 4:6. The NIV & NASB seem to agree with the KJV against the NLT twice of the remaining 3 samples (I don't feel that "deformed" has the same relationship to "withered" that "shriveled" has), while the NIV alone is in harmony with the NLT against the KJV & NASB only once. But apparently (because of Mark 4:6 and verses in other books not shown here) the NLT does indeed recognize that this Greek word CAN mean "wilted" or synonyms such as "withered".

Finally, I realize that I used the 1996 NLT but there are many still out there. It is not yet clear to me why all three (NLT, NIV, NASB) chose the meaning of 'rigid' or 'stiff' at 9:18 (except on the face it seems to fit the context).
