Hey Utilyan,
Isn't this "God distributing different amounts of Light" doctrine taught by the RCC also?
There is plenty of parables that teach that like the talents and this one:
Luke 12
41Peter said, “Lord, are You addressing this parable to us, or to everyone else as well?” 42And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and sensible steward, whom his master will put in charge of his servants, to give them their rations at the proper time? 43“Blessed is that slave whom his master finds so doing when he comes. 44“Truly I say to you that he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 45“But if that slave says in his heart, ‘My master will be a long time in coming,’ and begins to beat the slaves, both men and women, and to eat and drink and get drunk; 46the master of that slave will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he does not know, and will cut him in pieces, and assign him a place with the unbelievers.47“And that slave who knew his master’s will and did not get ready or act in accord with his will, will receive many lashes, 48but the one who did not know it, and committed deeds worthy of a flogging, will receive but few. From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.
Moral of the story is : From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.
Among things like this the church teaches invincible ignorance and that you should always follow your good conscience.
1782 Man has the right to act in conscience and in freedom so as personally to make moral decisions. "He must not be forced to act contrary to his conscience. Nor must he be prevented from acting according to his conscience, especially in religious matters."53
I probably don't agree with anyone in this thread on religious matters. It would be a sin on my part to vilify you and say well you are evil for not doing what we do. Nor do we use TERRORISM like using God as a terrorist weapon a boogey man who is going to hurt you if you don't do what we say.
I assume everyone who debates me does so for God's sake. Some folks do it out of Love and kindness and some folks do it out of fear. Some folks are just soldiers who got no problem putting folks in a gas chamber if God commands.
The THOUGHT counts. So even if you are against my church-Catholic its still honorable long as your following your good conscience , your heart.
I think like a pair of dirty hands we can clean each other up.
Romans 14
5One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. 6He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it.
Romans 14
14I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. 15But if thy brother be grieved with thy meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died.
Romans 14
21It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
If by some teaching you were not allowed to eat fried chicken I would make attempt not to do it in line with what you believe.
Same for our 7th day Folks I'm not going to go to church on Sunday on account if it grieves them.
I think i can't smoke or drink around 7thday folks and baptist(some baptist), JW's drink beer.
Catholics......be getting high plus Mardi Gras.
There is a lot of common ground though enough that if anyone followed their faith 100% its of good benefit.
The #1 thing I'm pushing is God is Love and Love is God in so much that all matters concerning God and all matters concerning LOVE are indistinguishable.
You take love away from any religion its useless.
