Theres my 1st question
MATT.12 [39] But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas:[40] For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; SO SHALL THE SON OF MAN BE THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH.
The above scripture says as Jonas was 3 days and 3 nights in the whales belly, and so shall Jesus be 3 days and 3 nights in the heart of the earth. Does good Friday afternoon till (easter) Sunday morning equal 3 days and 3 nights?
JOHN 20 [1] The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when IT WAS YET DARK, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
Cant even squeeze 3 days in there. Mary came to the tomb before sun up sunday mornin and Jesus had already risen
Yeah I covered that in the end of my last post. I paste here again:
Luke 13
31Just at that time some Pharisees approached, saying to Him, “Go away, leave here, for Herod wants to kill You.”
32And He said to them, “Go and tell that fox, ‘Behold, I cast out demons and perform cures today and tomorrow, and the third
day I reach My goal.’
^to give you idea third day means day after tomorrow.
Also remember a sunday doesn't start a daybreak.
Thats why your sabbaths starts friday night, ends saturday night.
"According to halakha (Jewish religious law),
Shabbat is observed from a few minutes before sunset on Friday evening until the appearance of three stars in the sky on Saturday night.
Shabbat is ushered in by lighting candles and reciting a blessing." --google.
When women are at the tomb lets say 6:00am when there is light. Thats not when sunday started, Sunday started maybe back around 7:00 pm give or take an hour, the exact moment being when 3 stars are visible.
I suggest nailing down the "day of preparation".
I believe that is Friday. Passover is not a one day event, its eight.
Matthew 27
62Now on the next day, the day after the preparation, the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together with Pilate,
63and said, “Sir, we remember that when He was still alive that deceiver said, ‘After three days I
am to rise again.’
64“Therefore, give orders for the grave to be made secure until the third day, otherwise His disciples may come and steal Him away and say to the people, ‘He has risen from the dead,’ and the last deception will be worse than the first.”
65Pilate said to them, “You have a guard; go, make it
assecure as you know how.”
66And they went and made the grave secure, and along with the guard they set a seal on the stone.
Arrangements are made to guard the tomb UNTIL the THIRD DAY. Imagine you are a guard. You are going to stay 3rd day, You are not going to do extras. If the 3rd day came and went, guards would leave too the job is done.
Matthew 28
1Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first
day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave.
2And behold, a severe earthquake had occurred, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled away the stone and sat upon it.
3And his appearance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow.
4The guards shook for fear of him and became like dead men.
After the SABBATH as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week.
Keep in mind this Sunday morning is coming from a Sunday night.
Friday's day to Sabbath night, Sabbath's day, Sunday night, Sunday's day.
Also THE GUARDS ARE THERE! Shaking in fear. Had the job of guarding over the 3rd day been complete they would have been home not outside still at the tomb SUNDAY MORNING.
