We do need a new image. We need a new image that includes a rejection of abortion and homosexuality. An image that shows this country will once again be proud to stand for biblical principles. An image that we are united and are not willing to run around the world with irresponsible dissent giving aid and comfort to our enemies. And am image that rejects the authoritarian polices of the liberal leftists.

We need an image that shows that our government rejects the foreign adventurism of the neo-cons and their rightist allies.

It is really sad tht anyone thinks that the US needs a new image...Haha, what we need is our old image back, we've had too many new ones, and that is why we are where we are today. Put Christ back in the equation and get along with life.

Have you ever lived in a foreign country?

Yes, the last four winters I have lived in the Czech Republic. Fortunately the Europeans I have met say, "We hate what your government is going, but we like the American people." Thank goodness they keep the two separated in their minds.

And, I bet you agree with them. It's sad when folks like the Dixie Twits and others belittle our country before others in the world.

You certainly jump to conclusions.

I tend to listen and say little. I find it enlightening listening to others. But I do see a huge difference between what our governnment has been doing the last 8 years and what the American people are like.

A true patriot will both praise his/her country where they see it right and good and will criticize it when they see mistakes.:tonofbricks:

When the U.S takes actions that are in it's own best interests, other countries always want us to change our "image".

It comes with the territory.

The key to this survey is to ignore it and continue to work in our own best interest.

It is not an outward image change we need, we need a change of heart as a nation. Look at the present economic mess. Why is it here? Nothing but pure greed. We are a society of spoiled brats, that started when we were toddlers demanding a toy at K Mart and our parents getting it to stop our crying. Now, we are married, in our 20s, and are starting out to raise a family, with no concept of living on what you make, saving for the future, and giving to the Lord. So, lets go get a $400000 house on a $1000 a month interest only payment. Lets go buy a $40000 car and finance it for 84 months. Then, lets max out our credit cards with restaruants 24-7, lottery tickets, and expensive vacations. Who cares about tomorrow?

Now, enter the greedy lending institutions that are more than glad to finanace this mess for a fee. Well, everything has to be paid for, and that day is here.

Enter the government. Lets run up record deficits, forget the borders, then bail out the idiots that spent themselves into oblivion.

Lets take this mindset into the church, go into debt, and create a three ring circus.

The image is going to take decades to redo. A totally different mindset will have emerge.

We managed to destroy the good work of the WW2 generation in less than 50 years. We are right back to the self serving 20s, with the Depression in front of us. We never learn.

Oh, and unlike the past generations, lets make abortion, gays, and lesbians the norm.

I see Jesus Christ in none of this. God is a patient God. One day He is going to remake the image of our country. It is going to be a giant thumb print from sea to shining sea.

No, I have not.

The reason that I ask is because many Christians I have met from other countries don´t dislike Americans and the United States. I have also found in living outside of the US, in Latin American countries, that those that hate the US have some very socialistic views and hate us because we have cut back some on our handouts to their countries. They feel since we are a rich nation we should share our wealth with the rest of the world more then we do.

We were living in a foreign country when the Tsunami hit in 2004. In the headlines every day was how little the US was giving compared to other countries. What they never pointed out was how much the private sector was giving. We are a very charitable nation. They just don´t understand that we, as individuals give also. This is something many people around the world do not understand.

If a democrat wins this time and if things "change." IMO you won´t see our image improve. We will still be a rich nation, we will still be a world leader and world power and the poorer, weaker nations will still resent that.

They may hate us in many countries but they love our money. They may hate us, but why is it many young people around the world dream of coming to the US? They may hate us, but if they need help militarily, who do you think they will call first?
