Tom, I see the remark in the same light as I see Navy personnel calling the Coast Guard "Sallow Water Sailors." Or remarks that the Coast Guard has a minimum 6 foo height requirement so Coasties can stand up if they go overboard.

Of course there was. To suggest one branch of the military is more valuable, patriotic, effective, accomplished than the others is a deception. History does not bear out that deceptive suggestionFirst, there’s absolutely no deception going on here.
Sorry, but it shows.Second, not having served in the military myself,
So do I. And find such to be insulting. I wonder how Douglas Munro would feel about the subject?Tom, I see the remark in the same light as I see Navy personnel calling the Coast Guard "Sallow Water Sailors." "You never served, did you?" Is a rhetorical negative.Might be why I asked..."did you?"
There was no such suggestion. Apparently everybody but you understands that.Of course there was. To suggest one branch of the military is more valuable, patriotic, effective, accomplished than the others is a deception. History does not bear out that deceptive suggestion
What is your pet excuse for your demeaning behavior?Sorry, but it shows.
Suggesting that one branch of the military is superior to the others is demeaning to the others. Ipso facto, QED.There was no such suggestion. Apparently everybody but you understands that.
I haven't demeaned anyone, unless you consider agreeing with you as demeaning. Go figure. What is your pet excuse for your demeaning behavior?

Of course you haven’t. I forgot with whom I was talking. I forgot the rules.I haven't demeaned anyone...

Anybody who jumps out of a perfectly good airplane is crazy. Or a Marine, but I repeat myself.
Neither are some Marines. I (USAF) offered first aid to a Marine who was crying like a baby after he fell down a hill during a rock concert at Shuri Castle on Okinawa one evening in the 1970's.
And no one should forget that it was an unarmed Airman who fought and defeated that terrorist who had an AK on that train in Europe a few short years ago.
.... On Veterans Day at our church there is always such good-natured ribbing among our veterans. Especially toward those who still try to fit in their uniforms.
Now that's hitting rock bottom - can we help it if our uniforms shrunk over the past 20 years or so????
Anyone who jumps out of a perfectly good airplane is crazy. Crazy in a magnificent and wonderful way.I seem to recall you inferring all Marines were crazy.
I thought this thread was going to be fun.
Pooh!
I work in a convenience store. Tonight, a GI in Army BDU's came in. We talked shop for a moment. The man next to us stated he had been in the military. So I asked him what branch. He replied "Air Force" I then said "Oh I thought you said you were in the military". When he got home, he called the boss and complained about me.
So, was that good nature ribbing - of another service - or, what?????
and if someone took it the wrong way and or offended - would you apologize to them.?Anyone who jumps out of a perfectly good airplane is crazy. Crazy in a magnificent and wonderful way.
It's not the same, Salty. I'm not sure why just yet, but I promise you, it's not the same.and if someone took it the wrong way and or [was] offended - would you apologize to them.?
