Do you weep when you preach on Hell and judgment?

"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him" (Ps. 126:5-6).

I can defend it but do not have time. Oh and buy the book Hells Best Kept Secret instead of reading a sermon.
Why? Did he do a poor job in the sermon?

At what point would I have understood enough for you to debate me on WOTM? Would reading Way of the Master be enough? Or would I have to read Hell's Best Kept Secret too? Would those two books be enough or would I have to be directly trained?

To understand his view and arguments read the book The Way of the Master as Baptist Believer is doing.

I will do so when I can. However, most methods of evangelism can be explained very simply, even in one message or a short pamphlet.

More important things on my mind at this time over debating evangelism methodology. Someone on this board has claimed that I deny a literal Hell so I am trying to correct that misunderstanding.

If this is true then you ought to be able to debate the Ten Commandments method straight from Scripture without the books. (Remember, "the Bible as the sole rule of faith and practice," or if you prefer, sola scriptura.) I tried to do this with you once on a thread you started, but you begged off--kept saying you'd get back to it, but never did.

You and me, straight Scripture on using the Ten Commandments in evangelism, no other books allowed--any time. But I'll not lose any sleep waiting for it to happen. :Coffee Until then, your own animal is the lemming.

Paul said that the Gospel message and the cross of Christ are the very power of God to sane sinners, correct?

is there any NT use by any Apostles to use the 10 Commandments instead of the message of the Cross?

"Sane sinners." An interesting slip. :Laugh

To be fair, I don't think that WOTM uses the Decalogue instead of the message of the cross, but as a prelude to it.

But you do bring up a good point, and that is that the examples of evangelism in Acts are all about the Holy Spirit, not the law, and it is the Holy Spirit Who convicts of sin (John 16:7-11). The Holy Spirit may or may not use the Decalogue to convict of sin, as even a cursory reading of Acts will reveal.

Not against the use of the Mosaic Law when speaking to sinners, but Paul seemed to think that the Gospel is the primary method used by God to reach out to people, as its the Job/task of the Holy Spirit to use that to bring convict/repentence/faith in the life of the sinner...

I completely agree.

Which then begs the question, why did you start this thread with the term "debates" in the OP? :)

If you want to debate - forget the book and read the Bible.

The Ethiopian unich needed someone to explain to him Isaiah the prophet and Philip acted as the commentary. Books are good as they help explain things and lots of Phillips are in them.
