So why hasn't Christ come yet? Logic fails you.What a useless thread. You could have written and showed scripture that supports a Pre-Trib rapture. If you can show it, I will consider it.
In the scriptures you always see the persecution of Christians, and then afterward the day of wrath when Jesus comes.
First Peter was written to suffering Christians; persecuted Christians; Christ didn't come.
The Book of Hebrews was written to persecuted Jewish believers; Christ didn't come.
The book of Acts tells of great persecutions under the wrath of Saul, the Sanhedrin at various times, and the Roman government at the death of Paul; Christ didn't come.
The persecution of Christians doesn't bring the Coming of Christ. That is failed logic. The persecution of Christians has been happening throughout every century. It is expected of all Christians.
Matthew 24:
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
First Christians shall be rounded up and killed for Jesus's sake. The gospel will be preached in all the world. Yes, this has been happening for 2000 years. But it will intensify. [/quote]
--Nothing new here. I gave examples how it has been happening for 2,000 years and has been intensifying. There has been more Christians persecuted in the 20th century than in all other centuries combined and the rate is not declining. So what is your point. Christ still has not come. You only confirm a pre-trib rapture.
"Great tribulation" is not "The Great Tribulation" which lasts for a specific period of time--seven years. Christians have been going through great tribulation for centuries. If you had read my post carefully you would have realized that. Yes, it will become so great, as great as it was in the days of Noah, that if Christ will need to intervene by taking his bride out of this world. That is the rapture being spoke of.For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.
The great tribulation shall be far worse, it will be the worst time since the beginning of the world or ever shall be. But look, Christians are still in the world and being killed. In fact, Jesus said this great tribulation will be shortened for the "elect's sake". This tribulation shall be shortened so that not all believers shall be killed off.
No man knows the day nor the hour thereof. Why are you so presumptuous?Has Jesus come yet? NOPE. That happens AFTER this great tribulation.
Jesus comes in all his glory after the Tribulation. That is not what is described in 1Thes.4:13-18. After the Tribulation "the elect" referred to is Israel. "So then all Israel shall be saved." The shall turn to him whom they have pierced. He is coming to defeat the enemies of the Jews. That is what the Battle of Armageddon is all about.Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
It seems absolutely clear, it is AFTER the great tribulation that Jesus returns.
And who do the angels gather up? The ELECT! So believers are still in the world, they have not been raptured out yet.
The Day of Wrath is when Jesus comes for His elect--the Jews and is a Day of Judgment on the enemies of the Jews. The bride will have already been raptured. There is no judgment on the bride. Why should there be?Verse 29 descibes both when Jesus comes and raptures out the elect, and when the "day of wrath" begins. It is true, Christians will not go through this "day of wrath". But the day of wrath is not the same as the tribulation or the great tribulation.
Revelation 6
And they cursed God and repented not of their sins.12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
Revelation 6:16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
--These are not believers. This is a picture of the unsaved. Believers have no fear of Jesus Christ who shed his blood for them. He is the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Now the unbelievers fear Him. Now at the end of the Tribulation they finally realize their fate, yet they still will not repent. There are no believers here.
This is not a picture of the believers in Christ. Believers are not afraid of the Lamb of God which takes away the sins of the world. They are not present in the Tribulation. There are only unbelievers, unrepentant who fear the judgment of Jesus Christ. Who else would fear a lamb??Here is the sun being darkened, the moon turning to blood, and the stars falling as was described in Matthew 24:29. This is when Jesus returns with his angels and gathers the elect.
It is now that the great day of God's wrath begins.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
Christians are not appointed to wrath. That statement is stated more than once in Scripture. The Scripture you just posted emphatically demonstrates it. The believers are not the kings of the earth hiding from the Lamb of God, and His wrath.See, all those verses the Evangelist showed all concerned the "day of wrath", not the tribulation. The day of wrath begins AFTER the tribulation when Jesus returns with his angels to take the elect out. Then the sun will be darkened, the moon will turn to blood, and the stars will fall. Then will begin the "day of wrath".
Christians will not go through the "day of wrath".
What a far-fetched idea you have.
Christ is about to come in his glory to save the Jews from their enemies.
Then He will set up His Kingdom. The believers in Christ have already been in heaven. The marriage of the lamb and the marriage feast have already taken place.
