Reporter arrested for daring to ask questions

My feeling, after watching the video, is this guy violated personal space, and was removed. The rest is smoke & mirrors. Tantruming & whining.


LGF offers biased commentary, like a lot of sites, and they host videos, the same one you posted, BTW. Why make a big deal of it ? would you feel better if I took the video fro the huffington post ?

Since there were plenty of other reporters within the same distance as Lepacek to the staffer the reality is, Lepacek didn't get arrested for a "personal space violation", he got arrested for the content of his question.

Is there more to it? I don't see the huge contradiction. Certainly, if they set up a headquarters too close to the site, they didn't know the buildings were going to collapse. If the comment, "I didn't know that the towers were going to collapse", was referring to a time before he was told, big deal. If the comment was referring to a time after he was told, big deal to that too. Just because someone tells you "Hey, those buildings are going to collapse." doesn't mean you know they are going to collapse.

To me it's just more weak evidence of a conspiracy.

I made no suggestion that he was non-biased, all human beings are biased. However, I will suggest that the practice of arresting reporters for asking difficult questions, is not a trait of a free country.

Regardless, there is no law in New Hampshire that criminalizes immaturity nor did they cite him for this. How can someone be cited for criminal trespass when he had been authorized to be on the property?

I wouldn't allow my wife to be the political spokesman for a transvestite, so it probably isn't an issue. But when your job is to deal with reporters, I'm sure it comes with the territory.

My wife would never be in a situation like this and Lepacek was not talking to a woman, although a man that can't stand and answer a question truthfully and then asks the cops to remove the questioner, may qualify as effeminate.

This moron was dealt with in an appropriate manner, and I'm sure no lasting harm will become of him. I hope the next time he's in somone's face like this, they deal with him the same way.

How can someone be cited for criminal trespass when he had been authorized to be on the property? He had valid CNN credentials allowing him to be there as a member of the press.

I would also like to point out that this man is clearly 3 or 4 feet further away from this suddenly very quiet "spokesman" than any of the other reporters with microphones nearly rammed up his nose jussling and bussling each other trying to get up against the guy. Your personal space argument doesn't hold water.

Well after watching the video for myself I didn't see any personal space violation either.

The guy was a respectful distance when he asked the question. The staffer asked for evidence and the reporter offered to open up his laptop and show him his documentation and the staffer walked away. The guy followed, but as soon as the staffer turned around he stopped. The staffer is the one that kept getting closer to the reporter.

Now as an active member of the press I wouldn't condone what this reporter did as it would have been much more effective to show video of the question being asked and then the staffer walking away.

But there is NOTHING in the video (and I watched the green pigskin video) that warrants an arrest. The staffer had every right to have the guy removed I "suppose." Not sure of that even, but there is no way he should have been arrested and there is no way his camera should have been taken away.

Better take a long look at that video of the guy being walked away in cuffs, because it wouldn't surprise me when the day comes that is a Chrsitian man or women being escorted away for standing up for the Truth of Scripture.

But that's just my $.02 and some say it's not worth that .
