I am NOT easily offended - but this one went over the line. In this day of sin being accepted - even by Christians - we need to stand up for the truth!.
Makes no difference if was a church service, or just a prayer meeting - this was totally unacceptable - especially for someone who claims to be born again.
I disagree to an extent.
Sexual immorality and dirty jokes by a politician is something I have seen throughout my lifetime, even with "Christian politicians". It looks s par for the course.
But I agree with the part that we need to stand for truth. We should not only condemn the dirty joke but also the lifestyle.
Christians should not support or associate with politicians who profess Christianity but act otherwise - whether Mace or Trump.
But what I am saying is that Christians should not be hurt or angered. That is what offended means. Christians should find the comments wrong, and they should point out that Christians are not to live immoral lives, not to insult, not to use bad language, not to tell inappropriate jokes.
I agree with most of your post....but I disagree that Christians should be angry or hurt by the sins of other people. We should be saddened. We should offer correction. We should not associate with those people. We should call out the sin.
Scripture tells us to offer correction and then if ineffective "turn them over to Satan". Scripture tells us not to associate with them. But we shouldn't be offended. We should do all of the above in love, hoping they will repent.
But yes, we should not support those people. That is why we should not support Trump as well. But how many will jump on the "Mace offended me" bandwagon while not being offended by Trump?
Until the conservative Republicans who rightly identify the issue with Mace likewise denounce Trump it's all politics. It's all politics because they ignore the sin when it suits them but become offended when it does not.
Where was the outrage when Trump insulted his political enemies? Where was the outrage when Trump cursed during Presidential speeches? I am not even offended by the hypocrisy of those "Christian Republicans". I am saddened. I pray for them. But they do not hurt me. They do not anger me.
