I notice that no one addresses the subject of equal pay for the same work. Just crying and trying to avoid the subject I guess.

I suppose that it would seem that way to someone who puts everyone that disagrees with him on "ignore".

From Crabby's view these threads that he starts must look awfully short.

Republican Senator Lisa Mukowski disagrees with the apologists on this board .............

In fact, she is the 3rd Republican senator to say, enough already.

Republican men, revisiting the past and destroying their future.

"The chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus said Sunday that "it's wrong" for Democrats to accuse Republicans of waging a "war on women."

"Yes, that is wrong. And I've never said it, not one time," Rep. Emanuel Cleaver, D-Mo., said, speaking on CNN's "State of the Union."

Cleaver made the statement when asked directly about Democratic claims that recent GOP legislation on abortion and other issues is tantamount to a campaign against women.

"I condemn it. If it's a Democrat, if it's my cousin, it's wrong," Cleaver said. "And I think we need to stop that. It is damaging the body politic and it's further separating the people in this country."

Wow, the chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus disagrees with you CrybabyBoy.

Imagine that!

can't help but notice that Crabby never starts a thread (or even makes a post for that matter) that talks about successes that Obama has had in office.

Things like the dramatic decline in unemployment, or the reduction of the national debt, or the decline in the deficit, or all the new green energy jobs that were created, or all the new roads and bridges everywhere from the shovel ready projects that were funded, or all of the people that kept their homes under Obama's mortgage programs, or...

Oh, wait...

Obama hasn't had any success in any of those areas.

All that's left is to attack others with fictional claims.

Hows that for hope and change?

I would expect her to disagree publicly. However, her opinion has nothing to do with public perception. How is the perception to be changed?

For instance there is a perception among some people that Obama is a Muslim. It is perception we are talking about.

How can the Republicans change this perception?

Well, <pa deleted - LE>, you just proved that you don't know what you are talking about, and are simply stirring the pot without any real knowledge to back it up.

Emanual Cleaver D-MO, chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, is not a "her".

He is very much a man.

How would you know what to "expect" from him if you don't even know who he is?

Its not a perception it is a political ploy.

You are partly right. It is a political ploy using a public perception.

Perceptions can be created. For instance the Republicans have pretty successfully created the perception that Obama is a Socialist. If you know your political philosophy you realize this is not true. But it is the perception of many.

Any and all political parties use political ploys to either create or play on public perceptions. That is simply elementary politics.

John, I never said he is a liar. He simply is doing the job. I certainly would not expect the leader of a political party to criticize the policies of the party he represents. That would be job and political suicide.

Crabby is so in over his head.

Emanual Cleaver is a Democrat!

And yet again Crabby proves that he has absolutely no knowledge of what he is talking about.

Newsflash <pa deleted - LE>, that is exactly what Cleaver is doing!!!!

He is a Democratic leader criticizing his own party.

News flash, Folks.

The only answer that Crabby is going to accept is:

"Republicans should agree to complete government funding of free contraceptives and abortion for all women and pass a law putting the government in charge of deciding how much a job should pay."

But it is not changing public perception and it is perception that drives voters and elections. And I do not see his comments so much as a criticism as a caution to tone it down a bit.

So, how can the Republicans change public perception as long as they back bills that a majority of women see at threats to their health, wealth and well-being?

I am completely right. This perception is among the far left alone. It bears no weight and should be given no consideration.

I don't know about being a socialist but aren't you going off topic?

Then a growing number of women are turning left, especially young women, and that does not bode well for Republicans.

But first, a new Gallup poll says the President is doing well with Independent women voters in the 12 key swing states: 51 percent of Independents female voters in those states say they would vote for Obama; only 37 percent for Mitt Romney. That's a 14-point gap. That's huge. In December, the same poll showed Romney leading Obama in Independent women voters; 48 to 43.

Salty, the subject is not about health care but the perception that Republicans are fighting a war against women. The question is what can Republicans do to change this growing perception.

What ? The subject isn't health care for women ?

You really have no shame.

So you are saying 51% of INDEPENDANT women are leaning towards Obama, and that spells disaster for republicans ?

Quite a reach.

Is it your belief that winning office is more important than being obedient to God's Word?

That seems to be what you are saying.

"Republicans should fund contraception and abortion if they want to get elected."

Read the rest of the quote. This is a 14 point lead over Romney at the time of the poll. Those numbers will change when Romney is the candidate.

And this does not include the Hispanic vote that is moving to Obama.

The Republicans have a very big problem with the perception by women of their anti-women policies.

Currently Gallup shows:

Barack Obama has a 48% to 39% advantage over Mitt Romney among independent voters in 12 key swing states. He first moved ahead of Romney among this group in February after being tied in January and trailing last year.

Obama leads Romney by 51% to 42% in the swing states, his first lead in five waves of interviewing in those states.

Obama's standing against Romney has improved substantially in the swing states among women. Among independents, he has gained among both men and women, but more so among women. In combined data from October and December 2011, Obama trailed Romney by 11 percentage points among independent men and five points among independent women. In combined data from February and March, Obama has a one-point advantage among independent men and a 14-point advantage among independent women.

Obama's share of the vote has increased by eight percentage points among both independent men and women in swing states since last year. As would be expected, Romney's share of the vote has correspondingly decreased, but it has dropped significantly more among women (11 points) than among men (four points).

Implications

Independent voters in the most competitive states may be the quintessential swing group, perhaps holding the key to victory for either Obama or his Republican opponent. Since last fall, their support has shifted toward Obama over his likely Republican opponent Romney, after previously favoring Romney. And it is those independent voters -- particularly women -- who are driving Obama's overall lead in swing states.
