Rick Warren's Top 100

No big deal to me. The world does not revolve around what RW does or does not do or recommend.

There's some good men on that list. Some I wouldn't follow, some I don't, some I probably should, some I do.

I also follow some people whom I don't agree with theologically (and are likely not Christians), but they are experts in other fields in which I have an interest.

I'm with you Lucas, but look at his top three. Osteen, himself and TD Jakes. WOW, I used to think Warren was a deceived and misguided Baptist pastor, now I think he is dabbling into heresy if he can endorse you and me to listen to Osteen and Jakes for doctrine.

Excellent... and mature thoughts Mexdeaf. Thanks for being reasoned and articulate.

The list presented in the link looks like nothing more than the top 100 pastors based on twitter followers. To me it doesn't look like an endorsement as much as a simple metric.

How would you respond to you Pastor this Sunday if he said he encourages you to follow TD Jakes or Joel Osteen on Twitter?

That's what I gleaned from it. Saw my pastor down there in the 60s.

Let me tell you what I know about the people at Saddleback church. They are God fearing, faithful servants of God. They are missionary minded, Kingdom focused, and genuine believers in Christ. People can say what they want about Rick Warren. But he must be doing a whole lot of things right to be producing such saints.

And there are some bad men on that list as well. Several are heretics. Though your post is 'warm', it doesn't exemplify a Scriptural mandate to reject heretics and to reject what is error.

Following a person on twitter means little. Endorsing a top 100 is quite a bit different, and making the cherry on top Osteen? Well well...

birds of feather...

That may be true as well. The OP seems unclear.

When I saw a heretic at number 1 I lost interest.

We have at least two who bought the book Your Best Life Now with The Purpose Driven Life thrown in. How could they be wrong after spending 12.99? :wavey:

And they are very shinny!

Yah......It's creepy. They are HUGE........the man weighs less than a $dolla-ten$........and he has 35-pounds worth of teeth.

It's like the old axiom:
A man with a button-nose cannot make a good jurist, nor a man with too many teeth a preacher.........It's just a truism. I didn't invent either axiom. I just know they exist.

Dooo...doo..doo..do...
doo..doo...doo...doo

Honestly, I don't judge on hearsay but need to see the original posting from Pastor Warren. I went through his Facebook page through to the beginning of May and couldn't find it at all. Does it really exist?
