If the Election were saved, who are the rest that were blinded????

It's been awhile since I did any kind of indepth study of Romans 9-11. So I may not be able to discuss this in much detail.
But I thought I would offer a post as well.
To answer your OP first, the "rest who were blinded" seem to be those who were not part of the "remnant chosen by grace"(vs. 5, NIV, sorry if you don't prefer that translation, I usually think better in the NIV).

10: Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back always.
11: I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy.
12: Now if the fall of them be the riches of the world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the Gentiles; how much more their fullness?
13: For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
14: If by any means I may provoke to emulation them which are my flesh, and might save some of them.

But then the temporary hardening is described in vs. 11-12 of those who were blinded or hardened.
But what Paul seems to understand in verse 14 is that, it is only temporary for some of the hardened ones. Some of them need his ministry, because God intends to save some. Others will remain in their hardened state due to their unbelief.
IOW, there is an elect group that Paul wants to reach within those who were part of the temporary hardening and it is those whose "acceptance" in verse 15 will mean perhaps even greater blessing for the world, than their initial rejection.

If I completely understand you, then I agree. The actual point I was trying to make was that Paul thought he might save some of them that were blinded, and Paul also said earlier that they could not be saved until the "fulness of the Gentiles", so it seems to me that Paul believed that temporary time had ended and the fulness of the Gentiles had come for him to believe he might save some.
