Crabby, I have to agree even though I usually disagree with you. The part about the lack of details bothers me. Why can't politicians give us the working details of how they will bring about a better America? I hope Mr. Romney will in the coming days and for Obama I cannot see where he can ask for 4 more years of what has transpired under his watch?
Generally the best thing government can do is get out of the way. Romney mentioned 5 things he would do to help the economy:
1. Repeal Obamacare. I believe this is perhaps the one thing that has stifled the economy most.
2. Reduce regulations. This is perhaps the second biggest hinderance to the economy. Obamma's EPA is killing industry.
3. Reform the tax code. If this is done effectively, particularly eliminating loopholes and corporate subsidies, it could boost the economy.
4. Reforming entitlements. If this is not done nothing will really matter. The Federal government is faced with an unfunded liability of 60-100 trillion.
My personal opinion, not Romney's, is that Medicare and Social Security should be changed now for those already retired by use of means testing. I am not sure where it should start but folks with a retirement income of say $150,000, more or less??, should not be getting Social Security and for these Medicare should only provide catastrophic coverage.
5. ????????Energy independence!
Crabby, hope you don't mind me calling you that. I have to ask, as a Christian how can you promote a candidate for Prez that is pro-abortion, anti Israel, pro LGBT and unlimited govt control of our lives? Can you please explain on each of these positions? Please no liberal spin.
He can! He can! At least in his own mind!
