No, it is Putin trying:
1. To re-establish the old Soviet Union
2. Keep a buffer state between Russia and the west.
3. Maintain complete control of the Black Sea
4. Playing to the political demands of the people in Russia

So what you are telling me is that Obama is conspiring to re-establish the Soviet Union. I knew you lefties had a soft spot for Stalin and the Soviets but this is going too far! Or to put it another way!

How is it too late? Those proposed cuts aren't in place.

This is a serious situation. Casting aspersions on the president is not the answer unless somebody has a real solution to go along with the aspersions?

Sanctions? Russia will laugh at sanctions?

Move the Sochi G8 meeting? Laughter again. That'd save Russia a lot of money.

Military action? Seriously? Get involved in a land war in Asia?

About all anyone can do is tell them how cross we were with them.

Actually it is 5+ years too late. I said on this Forum in 2008 that Obama's goal was the destruction of this country as a world power. Time is proving me correct. Obama was bad news before he was elected and he is worse news now, and that is the truth! Obama has destroyed the respect of our Allies and the fear of our enemies in his term as president!

Perhaps the war hawks want a modern charge of the light brigade. Incompetent officers ordered that first charge. Would be beyond incompetency and stupidity to put ourselves in a position for a new one to happen.

Can you imagine the horror of keeping the logistical supply line open. There is no good way to get there. Russia could block the entrance to the Black Sea very easily, just as Turkey could. It is a long way to the Crimea and getting the military men and supplies there would be extremely difficult and keeping them supplied would be even harder.

Unless you can re-task and airlift troops/supplies in the general area from bases in, say, Germany and/or Afghanistan....

Putin thinks so, he has committed an act of war!

Obama has the same mentality as that Federal court in Calif who ruled that American students could not wear a flag to school so as not to offend Mexican students when they wear the Mexican flag on "cinch de m!!! whatever day"! It is insanity!

I am not sure Obama is incompetent. I think he is doing exactly what he and Soros planned to do, destroy this country!

I am not advocating war. I am saying the school bully won't pick a fight with the person who can whip his butt! If Obama had not destroyed the respect of our friends and the fear of our enemies and the economy of our country there is much he could do! But he does not want to do anything just as he backed off on sanctions when they were having a serious affect on Iran!

O's mouth is his biggest problem right up there next to his huge ego. Truly "tough" men don't have to brag or talk an issue to death. They ACT or they don't act. Period.

All O has is words. He's told us that himself. His lies and contradictions and his idea of creating peace by "talking" to terrorists, have made the USA a laughingstock. He should do us all a favor and be quiet.
