While the Herodians had Roman citizenship and followed some Roman practices, they were not Pagan Romans by ethnicity but Semites and practiced a form of Judaism.Remember! Herod was a pagan Roman who worshipped the "queen of heaven". He was NOT a Jew. He had no reason to keep the Jewish passover.
The Herod family were Idumeans. That is, they were descended from Abraham through Isaac and Esau, rather than through Isaac and Jacob. They saw themselves as Jewish, participating in God's covenant with Abraham, but their ancestors had not gone to Egypt with Joseph and returned with Moses and Joshua.
Found in the public domain at http://www.sundayschoollessons.com/herod.htmHerod Antipater formally converted to the Jewish religious practice of the descendants of Jacob. His family would not allow their portraits (graven images) on the coins they issued, they did not eat pork as they followed the Jewish dietary laws, and the women of the family were not allowed to marry men who were uncircumcised..

Two of my favorite secular season songs are “I'm dreaming of a white Christmas” and when I'm on the road I think of “I'll be home for Christmas”...

How did this thread get hi-jacked from Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny to KJVO?
I should not be surprised though, some will use any thread to push their agenda...whether pro or con.

How is it sad to defend Gods word. If God is for you who can be against you. Other wise ye will be fighting against God. See that is what I mean. Some one brings scripture into it and it is asked why . And a Christain can't ask why there is santa and a bunny for the Days that are ment to serve his Lord. Just like they want to change Christmas to all about santa and easter to all about a bunny. KJV is just not a book it is the bible and Gods word. You can be ignorant about God word just like you can be ignorant about having santa and easter for them days that are really about Jesus Christ. It is not sad that he defends the word of God. I don't know what you read reform but to me you are talking evil about a man that loves his God and the words of his God. My friend if it was not for them words I would be in very bad shape right now. God bless you to understand what I am saying to you and God bless them that defend and stand on the word of God.ReformedBaptist said:Oh the lengths to which certain men go to to defend the the KJVO teaching. Well, OK, I guess. But I do have one question.Sopranette said:I don't mind this thread being hi-jacked. I'm learning something in the process.
BTW, the bunny we're chasing might be a giant rabbit who lays eggs!

These too, are the words of God.tinytim said:οὕτω γὰρ ἡγάπησεν ὁ Θεὸς τὸν κόσμον, ὥστε τὸν υἱὸν αὐτοῦ τὸν μονογενῆ ἔδωκεν, ἵνα πᾶς ὁ πιστεύων εἰς αὐτὸν μὴ ἀπόληται, ἀλλ᾿ ἔχῃ ζωὴν αἰώνιον.
The words of God...
And the words of God as both tinytim and I have quoted above are a part of the written Word of God.
