Sean Hannity and Obama

On Sean's Hannity's commentary yesterday morning, he stated that many who voted for Obama, are now changing their political ideology to conservative.

I tried to find a quick link to his opinion - did not find it yet (any help would be appreciated)

So do you agree with Sean, or do you think that it is just wishful thinking of the part of Sean?

No, I do not agree. I think people like Hannity are engaged in wishful thinking. A reality check will show that:

(a) Obama is the first African-American President who received a large amount of African-American support for that very reason. In 2012 many of those same people will come out in force to make sure he is re-elected.

(b) Obama's hardcore left wing supporters are disappointed in him because they believe he is not liberal enough. Having said that, they are unlikely to vote against him in 2012.

(c) The Republicans have nobody that can run against Obama successfully.

(d) There might be some third party options, but most people are not yet ready to vote third party for president. I am tempted to go third party in 2012. Might there be a "Paul" in the race?

This is not to say that Obama will win a second term. It is only to say that as things stand right now I see no reason to think he will not. Hannity is only seeing what he wants to see. This should not surprise us though, Hannity is a partisan hack who rarely examines things critically.

Obama will be a one term President. His support among independents has dropped like a rock.Only 20% of this country sees themselves as liberal, 40% see themselves as conservative and the rest are independents. Hannity is Correct.

IF there's a 2010 election, and IF the voters remember the events of 2009 and can't be swayed by the Socialists and their lies in political commercials already beginning to run (and that's a BIG if), and IF the conservatives don't virtually guarantee a Democrat win by splitting for a third party, Obama is finished.

But I'm to hope in the mentality of the people that gave us a Democrat house and senate, and a Marxist president in the first place?

I wrote this verse on Nov. 4, 2008, and I still believe it:

Amerika! Amerika!
God turned His face from thee,
And judged thy sin
With a Marxist win.
Farewell, dear Liberty!

I gotta go with this conclusion!

I sure hope that the public in general is waking up, and some are, but are there enough that have the discernment to see past the "next" liberal lie to make a difference??

Based on the responses of many on this board, I must say NO!

Sure hope to be proven wrong though.

I believe Obamba's base is solid.
Many people who appear angry now over expenditures or this and that reasons whatever it may be.... are so undecided within themselves as to what they want.... they will likely follow any pied piper playing a flute of hot air and empty promises.

Unless the Republican Party is capable of presenting a real choice.... It will continue to look like a zebra of gray blending in and compromising the issues.

We need to return to the basics of constitutional government, conservative economics, free enterprise..... not the corporate monopolies which intend to squash all competition under the banner of 'capitalism' where he who has most rules...... and the traditional values of family, justice, and moral virtue. Any person who most clearly represents these will get my vote. No party is guaranteed my vote because of fearing a split!

(Besides, if they want my vote, they will find and put the very best forward... or they don't deserve it.)

Well, the worst thing consevatives can do is gloat and boast over the recent victories in Virginia and New Jersey. I am a Republican, but this kind of behavior can be very offensive. And you don't want to go on TV and tell Independents what they believe. They are Independents for that very reason, they make up their own minds, they do let folks like Sean Hannity tell them what they believe or how they will vote. I am a big fan of Fox News, but not Sean Hannity. I personally agree with most of his political views, but he is too aggressive for me.

The Republican party should stay true to it's core values. If they return to these values they could most certainly win in 2012.

I think that Mr. Hannity is engaging in wishful thinking. Unless the American people start voting for limited government people instead of only Democrats and Republicans(the vast, vast majority of whom are not limited government people), then we will continue to move toward government with large size and scope.

Agreed. The problem is, folks always want the other guy to vote out their incumbant, but keep reelecting theirs. Several folks where I work are always complaining about high taxes (I think we rank 3rd in taxes), but keep voting for Democrats who have held a large majority for decades. Our state budget is already in the red, but the Dems have guaranteed state workers of a raise, and no lay-offs until mid 2011. No one in the public sector gets promises like this, we have had several layoffs where I work this year, and we did not get raises this year either.

And it is not just the Democrats, many Republicans are just as fast and loose with the people's money. As you said, we need to all vote these guys out as fast as we can, then they would start being responsive to the people again.

I have voted for independents in the past, and I will do so again if my party (R) does not offer responsible candidates.

No, I do not agree. I think people like Hannity are engaged in wishful thinking. A reality check will show that:

A recent poll showed that 40% of Americans consider themselves Conservative, 40% independent, and 20% liberal.

(a) Obama is the first African-American President who received a large amount of African-American support for that very reason. In 2012 many of those same people will come out in force to make sure he is re-elected.
The democrat always gets 90+% of the black vote. Obama has not delivered what some expected, from his stash that is, so they may not turn out.

(b) Obama's hardcore left wing supporters are disappointed in him because they believe he is not liberal enough. Having said that, they are unlikely to vote against him in 2012.

Probably true.

(c) The Republicans have nobody that can run against Obama successfully.

Actually they have several. With a double dip recession the economy will be against him. If the cap and tax and obamacare passes the youth who voted overwhelmingly for Obama will realize they have been shafted and either stay home or vote against him.

(d) There might be some third party options, but most people are not yet ready to vote third party for president. I am tempted to go third party in 2012. Might there be a "Paul" in the race?

Third party would ensure democrat election unless things really get bad.

This is not to say that Obama will win a second term. It is only to say that as things stand right now I see no reason to think he will not.

I still believe there is a possibility that obama will be asked to step aside, if not before then in 2012.

I also think Obama is a one term President. I also think bringing another liberal Republican to the White House will accomplish nothing. My opinion of Hannity is that he basically parrots the Republican line regardless if they are liberal, conservative, or yellow with pink polka dots. He is just another actor who depends on ratings for keeping his show on the air.

When the American people get tired of getting tampled on by the two present parties, when we finally wake up and elect leaders who want to use the Constitution to govern, then things will change, and not until then.

You are wrong. Hannity repeatedly says that he is a conservative. He is at least smart enough to know that a vote for any third party now is a wasted vote or in effect a vote for the democrat [remember 1992 and Ross the Perot].

Perhaps Governor Sarah Palin will be able to ignite a viable 3rd party though some on this Forum take pleasure [just like the liberal/left] in dumping on her. She may never make it to the presidency but she could ignite a viable revolt among Conservatives or Constitutionalists. I understand that she, along with Rep. Bachman of Minn., will be speaking at the Tea Party rally in Nashville in Feb.

Hannity is not conservative. He is catholic. His love for all things papal clouds his views. He is a moron.

You keep right on calling our votes wasted. I'll keep right on telling you that McCain would have us going down the same path the zero has us on.

. . . McCain would have us going down the same path the zero has us on.
It would have been much slower though.

I'm rethinking my statement in a previous post. Perhaps the voters who gave us Obama said, "Enough of this mamby pamby, milquetoast Republican party. You want to reach across the aisle? Here ya go."

That's wishful thinking on my part, though.

i am not a devotee of Hannity. That being said he is not a catholic, He is a Roman Catholic. There is a world of difference and being one does not automatically prevent one from being a conservative.

If you think McCain would have tried to take over medical care I would put you in the same mental class as you put Hannity.

Doesn't make it any less so.

Anyhoodilly, you vote for a "conservative" who works to grant amnesty to illegal aliens, bows to the U.N. on it's global climate chane power grab, suspends his campaign to bail out banks, and prides himself on working with all manner of liberal causes, in the interest of "working together", and tell me I'm throwing MY vote away ?

It is to laugh.

And I never knew the difference between a catholic and a Roman Catholic. One suck-up to the great whore on the seven hills is as good as the next. I thought you were against ecumenicism.
