Secession Movement Explodes: 675,000 signatures, 50-state participation
Wednesday, November 14, 2012

Less than a week after a New Orleans suburbanite petitioned the White House to allow Louisiana to secede from the United States, petitions from seven states have collected enough signatures to trigger a promised review from the Obama administration.

By 6:00 a.m. EST Wednesday, more than 675,000 digital signatures appeared on 69 separate secession petitions covering all 50 states, according to a Daily Caller analysis of requests lodged with the White House’s “We the People” online petition system.

A petition from Vermont, where talk of secession is a regular feature of political life, was the final entry.

Petitions from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Tennessee and Texas residents have accrued at least 25,000 signatures, the number the Obama administration says it will reward with a staff review of online proposals.

Id sure miss those great Texas BBQ's...but as for the rest.....please take California with you....PLEASE!

The red counties in Calif. OK, But no blue, no Hollywood. Us red counties might sell them some oil and food if they shut up but otherwise they will have to import from where ever.

Of course I am in favor of putting an exorbitant tariff in Hollywood films so those elite leftists may have to start to work. They could sneak into Arizona and then Sheriff Joe could entertain them.

Half the Articles of Confederation no longer apply. The NATO Charter could be easier to apply to a North American Treaty Organization comprised of 50 sovereign states.

We need to give South Carolina to China to pay back the debt, except that it probably would only cover the interest.

SECESSION? Where do I sign?

Government may stand a chance of running more efficiently if it was closer to the people and away from the bloated, overspending, unresponsive bureaucracy in DC.

All fifty. That must be a precedent.

So, in effect, we've asked D.C. to take a hike. I hope this movement gains momentum. America's done for anyway. What's left to preserve?

Me too.

America's done for anyway. What's left to preserve?

An increasingly enormous monstrosity (that would be unrecognizeable to our founding fathers) that will probably collapse under it's own weight in the near future.

Secession is just a whine. Someone is having a good laugh over how many people have been seriously attracted by this silliness and stupidity.

Don't call yourself patriotic or a "good American" if you put your name on one of those, because you're not.

So who made you judge over who is a "good American"?

Okay

Just keep in mind there's a difference between patriotism and nationalism. Those who are saddened by the fact of our federal government disregarding the constitution (and who still believe in the principles stated in the Declaration of Independence) fall into the first category. Those who think America is still the end-all-be-all (regardless of rapidly diminishing liberties at home) and can do no wrong (domestically or abroad) are in the latter.

Leftists want to characterize secession as a thought crime.

Leftist control freaks are attempting to turn the call for states to secede from the union into a thought crime – by asking the government to have its advocates stripped of their citizenship, deported and exiled.

The viral stampede for secession has now reached a crescendo, with residents of all 50 states filing petitions with the White House calling to withdraw from the United States and form new governments independent of federal control.

The petition for Texas, the largest so far with over 107,000 signatures, states, “The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government’s neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it’s citizens’ standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.”

A Daily Caller investigation found that the kind of people filing the petitions are Marine veterans, parents, mechanics and businessmen.

Many Obama-supporting Twitter users have also voiced their desire to see secessionists targeted by the government merely for voicing a political grievance. View a selection of Tweets below.

CONTINUE . . .

>Which half?

Offhand, those that apply to the interim federal government and the transition to the new government.
