Senate GOP agrees to one-week delay on Kavanaugh confirmation to allow for FBI probe

That's what I was referring to, and that's the crucial issue. Why doesn't he want the FBI to look at the allegations and potentially clear his name? I would demand it.

It's not about an investigation, it's about delaying a vote on the nominee. This will take another week at least and by the end of that week the creepy porn lawyer Avenetti will have a couple more of Kavenaugh's victims on hand, and who knows who the Democrats will find out there that was "assaulted" by Mr. Kavenaugh. Like I said before, it's over and the Dems have won thanks to the RINO Jeff Flake.

That's a matter of opinion. My view of Kavanaugh diminished as I watched his evasiveness during his testimony. I found Ford much more credible than I expected.

Oh really, what convinced you? Was it her saying that she couldn't fly to DC to be there on Monday because she is afraid to fly, despite the fact that she flies regularly for work related trips and family vacations? Was it that she said she was never contacted by Sen Grassely who said he did indeed contact her with an offer to send his aides to California to interview her? Perhaps it was her best friend whom she said could not confirm her accusations because the friend has health issues? It's not Judge Kavenaugh who needs to be investigated, it's Mrs. Ford who needs the scrutiny.

I’m wondering if they’ll investigate who leaked her letter to the press.
They should! But to everyone that is probably "small potatoes".

We all suspect (left and right) it was Feinstein but we don't know so pretend I didn't say it.

Why the FBI? Probably, McConnell needed another week to count the votes. The GOP needs to pass this nomination or else people will stay home in November and clean out the Rinos and everyone else in Congress. Flake is so pro-Cuba that he is anti-American. The Arizona Republican Party seems to be badly divided, but the Republicans from New England always want to vote with the Democrats. Meanwhile, here in Indiana, Democrat Senator Donnelly says that he will vote against Kavanaugh, so the GOP nominee in Indiana must be in some trouble as he is an unknown.

Manchin from WV will probabky vote yes, as will the Lady Senators IF they get the Fbi lookover. That was probbaly main reason agreed to it, in ordere to keep the Moderate Senators still on board. I honestly though fail to see what can be added, as Dr Ford has nothing to back up her story, and her memories were like swiss cheese!

Kavanaugh has no chance. Again the vote of one turncoat changed it.

Oh, they have a week to horse trade. None of the charges against Kavanaugh has any basis in fact. DiFi is too old in her case although some people are still sharp all their lives but she is devious and naïve for having had a ChiCom spy in her office for so many years.

Thios is so evil, as the Dems and media have gotten together to do a massive smear campaign on the Judge! the one good thing is that this crapola festival shoudl really fire up the republican voters to get the Dems out!

Prepare for the worst (Brett), hope for the best (Amy).

Brett will be a fallen hero, he will go back out into the legislative world with a Medal of Honor and succeed like Clarence.

Amy is probably next, if not probably another woman.

I will predict right here and now that those who support abortion (either openly or secretly) will jump on the XXXXX bandwagon and vilify Amy (or whoever is the next Trump SCOTUS justice candidate.).

XXXXX = the doublethink argument that the marxist come up with to resist, disrupt and destroy whatever President Trump initiates.

In Amy's case they already started their smear by suggesting she was a cult member before President Trump even made his selection.

Judge Amy Barrett criticized for charismatic affiliation- Who are the People of Praise?

It's going to happen! There will be another character assassination. This is how it begins - divide and conquer - we are already divided, dont let the conquer happen!

The Blue Dog Republicans need to take over the majority in both houses to keep communism from entering our borders.

Republican talking heads are upbeat today on TV. McConnell appears very confident .

I'm sure the Republicans already know there's nothing to be 'added', their reasons for complying you've already touched upon; to get the fence sitters off the fence.

You mean "One weak delay"

If it placates the RINOs and fence sitters and gets their votes the delay will be worth it. Remember, 'The Turtle' is ultimately in charge here. :)

[add]

I give 'The Turtle' credit for his delay tactics that got Gorsuch on the SCOTUS and maybe even Trump elected because of it.

Depending on how broad the investigation is I think it could be his past drinking that could cause problems for Kavanaugh. Dems could make hay from that if they get evidence he has overindulged to the point of 'blacking out' or 'not remembering' when he has indicated that he did not.

Trump supposedly has never smoked or drank and he may have no sympathy for it.
