But forty years on the slaughter continues despite there bring two parties that have shared power.

As long as the "party of death", the democrat party, controls one house of Congress or the presidency nothing of substance will be done about abortion unless and until the Americans finally get sick of the slaughter. This was demonstrated most clearly so that even the blind should understand while Clinton was president and the Republicans controlled the House and Senate. On two occasions the Congress passed a bill making Partial Birth Abortion illegal. On both occasions Clinton vetoed the bill. When Bush became president the bill was passed again and Bush signed it into law.

Also during those years 2001-2007 Congress sent a bill to Bush that required medical treatment for babies alive after an abortion, a bill he signed. It is notable that on 3-4 occasions the goulash leader of the party of death, Obama, fought against a similar bill in the Illinois Senate.

It should be obvious even to the near blind that the democrat party, the party of death, and the mainstream media have sold themselves to evil in their support of abortion. Consider the publicity given a Texas legislator who filibustered a bill in Texas that would eliminate abortion after 20 weeks and require abortuaries to meet certain medical criteria. The bill was passed into law in a second special session. This woman, however, was glorified by both the party and media and is now the democrat candidate for governor of Texas.

It should also be noted that the American taxpayer is paying for abortions performed by Planned Parenthood, which performs 30-40% of the abortions in this country.

Being patriotic does not make one a Christian nor is there anything wrong with a Christian being patriotic. With that said I wish a lot of folks with Greektim's attitude would leave the country. We'd be a lot better off.

Pure foolishness. Abortion is a sin issue. It's not a political issue the way that some in the church want to keep making it in order to take the responsibility for the moral decline of America off the church's shoulders.

Perhaps if those in the church would stop trying to blame the Democrats or the Republicans for not having the answer to sin, some headway can be made in lovingly sharing the Gospel and seeing folks saved and not wanting to get an abortion in the first place.

I wholeheartedly agree that abortion is a sin. However it is also a political issue and the "party of death", the democrat party, is a disgusting bunch of politicians who support the slaughter of the unborn.

It's a political issue because the church has rolled over and ceded the responsibility of dealing with it to the government and then sat back and argued within the church about party's of death and why now 50 million dead babies later no one has STILL done anything substantive to stop abortion.

There is one solution for sin: JESUS CHRIST. And until the Body of Christ gets on the same page about that and stops trying to make this into a Republican vs Democrat political issue, then expect the dead babies to continue LITERALLY stacking up.

You might be more credible if just one time you condemned the "party of death", the democrat party, and its leader, Obama!

Like I said, pure foolishness and it is now evident that you have little to no concern about seeing lost souls won because politics has become the god of your life.

This foolish them vs us constant argument by folks in the church is the problem. It ain't Obama. It ain't the party of death. It ain't the Democrat party.

It's YOU!

Some of you who have posted on this thread seem to believe that the United States is in some way a sort-of "Modern-Day Israel."

I have difficulty believing this in the sense that the USA is NOT Israel in the exact same sense as our Bibles refers to that nation that God promised would arise from the land to which He told Abraham to go to and live out the remainder of his life here on earth.

The nation that developed as a result of the so-called "conquests" that are mentioned in the OT books of Joshua, Judges, and in the narrative form found in the books of Samuel, Kings, and Chronicles is NOT the exact same nation that arose in 1948!

Although there were elements of the so-called "Zionist Movement" [i.e., a collective desire to return to the land of Palestine that was {for all intents and purposes} destroyed and whose people were scattered {i.e., the so-called "Jewish 'Diaspora'" that began in the latter half of the 2nd Century A.D.}] that began to arise in the 1900's on through most of the early part of the 20th Century, but many of them that existed in various parts of the world were not only down right quashed, but (in many cases) severely persecuted such as the many "Pogroms" in Russia and during the Nazi era of the 1920's - 1940's.

History reveals many sad tales of how several of the world's so-called "Enlightened[?] Democracies" either stood in the way or absolutely forbade many groups of Jewish people from returning to the land of their ancestors--and, in some cases, is still going on.

In a sense, God has (and is) blessing that tiny strip of land that lies along the western coast of the Mediterranean Sea, but to infer that, because of this very fact, modern-day Israel is, therefore, THE modern-day "re-incarnation" of the land that is mentioned in our Bibles is (at least to me anyway) quite a "stretch of one's imagination."

I say this because IMHO the REAL "Israel" of the future "End Times" will be something much greater than the Israel that exists today.

For one thing (and this is a very important thing!), the future Israel that is found in the pages of God's Word will be a "Perfect Theocracy" with Jesus Christ ruling as "King of Kings and Lord of Lords"!!

We who are saved will also have a role to play in this future Israel. The last part of Revelation 20:6 (".... they [God's Children] shall be priests of God and Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.") tells us that we too will share, as Romans 8:17 puts it, "....heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ...."

What exactly that will be I'm not really sure, but IMHO, that role sounds mighty good to me!

I don't know about you, but, given the state that this sin-cursed planet is in, I'm ready for, as II Peter 2:13 puts it, "....a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness"!

That's why "Yours Truly" is in total agreement with the Apostle John when, inspired by God the Holy Spirit, he penned the very last prayer that we find in our Bibles which is found in Revelation 22:20 --- ".... Even so, come, Lord Jesus."

I declare here and now that I have never confused the United States with Israel. That being said I still believe that we are the greatest country in the world. How long that will last only God knows. Believing that God holds countries accountable in no way confuses them with Israel of the Old Testament. God chose Israel for the purpose of bringing Jesus Christ into the world. Once that occurred their part in God's purpose of redemption was complete.

When you just once condemn Obama and the party of death you will gain some credibility. Until then feel free to blame me for all your problems, even in the largest possible text!

Will you just stop with all this judging outside the church? I don't have a heaven or a hell to condemn Obama to. And truth doesn't need your type of credibility.

SO I will feel free to keep blaming you and those like you who continue to foster a political them vs us attitude that does nothing more than perpetuate the same outcome.

Why don't you try putting Jesus before your politics and do those things that should place the Body of Christ on the same page [snipped]

Pure foolishness that you refuse to acknowledge your own complicity just because you want me to condemn someone who many on here have said ain't in the Body.

Zaac - I don't understand. I oppose abortion as the murder of a human; I preach it in the church I attend; I work with other Christians to also preach that sin is the reason we need Jesus.

However, the legal system in this country isn't swayed by our preaching. It currently says that the murder of unborn children is legal and acceptable.

How can we not condemn that?

How can we not condemn someone who supports it?

How can we not call it sin, that needs repentance and Christ?

When are you going to stop defending the party of death and misery for the living, the GOP. I oppose both abortion and mistreatment of the poor, the elderly and the ill. If you are going to scream about the unborn, why not the same about the misery inflicted on the living?

You continually take threads away from the subject of the OP. This is understandable occasionally, but it happens in your posts on just about every thread you respond to and it should stop.

Not, go back and address the issue of the OP, patriotism and the church.

Thanks.

My view of patriotism is we try to correct the leadership when they're wrong, and support it when they're right. The original American ideals of freedom and personal choice are worth killing for. When they are not threatened, we should strive to live in peace.

again, we can and do preach jesus as answer ro sin problem but we also need to adress political issues, and the culture, for we know only some the Lord will reddem, but we still must strive to also elect leaders and have laws enacted that reflect as much as possible bilical principles, such as abortion/gay marriages etc!
