Should Facebook be outlawed?

My initial reaction when reading what you wrote was "WELL DUH!" Of course they shouldn't.

Then I read the link.

My reaction didn't change.

Shows how effective prison is. How messed up do you have to be to commit crimes while you're in prison for crimes?

I don't think they should have access to the internet period....

If access, should only be limited to school with everything else blocked.

Prison should consist of a large field surrounded by a fence with a lookout tower on each corner. The field would have 10 foot holes in the ground. Prisoners would be deposited in the holes. Once a day bread and water would be thrown into the holes. Guards on the lookout towers would shoot anyone that comes out of a hole.

I'm dead serious about that. If we made prison just like that we'd have a whole lot of people trying their best to stay out of prison.

I agree wholeheartedly.

I'd go even further. Prisoners should not have access to the internet. Period.

Exactly. Forget gyms, forget TV, forget free college. That's just ridiculous.

Sounds good to me. Or else they should have to dig new holes and fill up the old ones. All. Day. Long.

It's far worse than you think.

Prisoners in Texas work very little. Agricultural "workers" do not work in temperatures over 85 degrees or under 60 degrees. Even then, they only work about 5 hours. Prison work programs are a joke.

Corrections officers can't correct and offenders routinely file grievances against officers who tell them to do such minor things as make their beds or turn off the TVs to enforce discipline.

It's all a joke.

I'd let them out for daily exercise.

...At the rock pile.

No, that let's them have social interaction and the possibility of fighting with others. Leaving them in the hole avoids problems and keeps the number of guards needed to a minimum.

For most people in prison, prison life is nicer than their home life growing up was.

Baloney!

They universally hate prison and I don't know any that would agree with your off the wall statement.

about the most that could be said for the prison environment vs. home...it's certainly more structured.

Thanks for a good laugh. Laughter is good for our emotional health.

I believe before you make such a statement you ought to try out life in a jail for a few weeks.
