Stay young. People 60 & older are most at risk. Something like 3 or 4 percent of cases are fatalities.

Don't let yourself grow old: you may live to regret it.

I wanted to buy some Wholewheat bread flour, Wholewheat spaghetti, large fee range eggs but all were out of stock in Tesco, although many of these things were labelled, "only 5 of these per customer." The same were out of stock in Aldi yesterday.

You do realize that ethyl (drinking) alcohol and isopropyl alcohol are not the same thing?

Yes, remember when the wife of Michael Dukakis tried chugging rubbing alcohol, hairspray, etc. after he cut off her booze:

BOSTON -- Kitty Dukakis, wife of 1988 Democratic presidential candidate Gov. Michael Dukakis, drank....vanilla extract, nail-polish remover...."The last thing I swallowed was hair spray...I just pulled off the spray top and gulped"

"During her husband's unsuccessful presidential campaign, she publicly acknowledged a 26-year addiction to diet pills. She also entered a Rhode Island rehabilitation center in 1989 for treatment of alcoholism."

"Dukakis said she drank vodka daily during the presidential campaign and that her husband's Nov. 8, 1988, loss sent her into a deep depression....Despite seeking help in February 1989 at the Edgehill Treatment Center in Newport, R.I., Dukakis said, she suffered relapses when she returned home."

"Following her hospitalization after drinking rubbing alcohol, Dukakis says she ingested the after-shave and hair spray while home for Christmas from a psychiatric hospital."

There were no shortages and no limits on anything at the Kroger store on Monday. The temperatures have been in the 50s in the afternoons but overcast and rainy. I am just not worried. I have small supplies already of the things that people are hoarding and I am not trying to buy anymore of anything. I work at a blue-chip corporation and they have put out extra hand sanitizer but kept quiet otherwise.

Canada might be more at risk because they are still accepting illegal immigrants. They are on the verge of a recession and their medical system cannot cope with urgent needs so rich Canadians come here for advanced medical care.

Australians are hoarding toilet paper.

If people get quarantined they will need things to do, things like reading books.

I’m buying as many books as I can before there’s a rush on them and they start running short.

Or buy some movies to watch. Titles like "Contagion", "The Andromeda Strain", "Outbreak", "The Omega Man."

I regularly take zinc a couple times a week and ran out so stopped to buy some and guess what? No zinc anywhere. Decided to look around and no vitamin C anywhere (at least in 2 drug stores I went to). I decided to look if flu therapy type drugs were gone...yep. I get home and remember I'm out of dog food, my son tells me he heard that Sam's Club had sold out all their dog food...

So, I stopped at 2 Walgreens, CVS and 2 grocery stores and the rubbing alcohol shelves were all empty, so were the disinfectant wipes and anything with an alcohol base. Some 30 year old guy at Walgreens was buying about 8 quarts of peroxide.

Try Dollar General / Dollar Tree Stores. Wife found wipes, bleach, isopropyl alcohol, hand sanitizer yesterday at one near us.

Thanks, will do. I did get to order 2 quarts of 91% alcohol on Ebay that's supposed to be on the 17th, cost was $32.

I guess I'm going to run to town shortly and pick up a few necessities myself but its more to protect myself from inconvenience by the hoarders than preparation against the disease at this point.
