Surely you would attend the funeral of a dear loved one. Even if they disagreed with you?Originally posted by standingfirminChrist:

I find this to be a very sad attitude. This was not what Jesus was referring to when he said let the dead bury the dead.Originally posted by standingfirminChrist:
I will attend the funeral of a loved one, yes. But not a catholic funeral,
Let the dead bury their dead.
Even if if would hinder your testimony to other unsaved family?Originally posted by standingfirminChrist:
Catholic funerals are nothing but show. Like a final queue of clowns in a parade. Knights of Columbus are always seen in them in full comical regalia.
The Word of God convicts me of participating with anything within the catholic church, so, no. Even if it were my brother or sister's funeral, I would not attend.
I can't think of anything that would drive unsaved relatives further away than to shun a deceased sibling like this. Sorry to say, but should this happen, you would be perceived as heartless.Even if it were my brother or sister's funeral, I would not attend.
