Six die at Christian School in Nashville

That is a whole another discussion
go to this link

Lets see - you said - "we will die by those weapons" then you said "Expect to die"

So are you saying that if you do use a weapon against someone - then you will absolutely die by the "sword"?
Does that include police officers ?

BTW - when did you take off all the locks from the doors in your home?
I am sharing what God tells us when we pick up weapons.
The early church understood this and the church grew because of their faith, not their fight.

What we have in Tennessee is 6 martyrs whose prayers are before the altar of our King and High Priest. He will avenge their death.

I didn't misinterpret it at all. We are presently in the Tribulation. God informs us that if we, Christians, pick up weapons to fight back against the beast (governments and false prophet) we will die by those weapons. we are called to endure and have faith. We are not called to pick up weapons. But, if you do, expect to die by that same weapon which you pick up.
Hummm…… did those little kids have weapons? Did the teachers or the janitor have guns?

No, and yet they died by an act of pure evil and you are now attempting to link their deaths to Christian 2nd amendment advocates.

Shameful. Completely lack of decency.

peace to you

I heard this morning the shooter is a biological female that recently began “transitioning” to male.

A very good question was asked. If this woman was taking testosterone as part of her “transitioning”, could that have contributed to this act of violence?

Do we even have studies that show the effect of testosterone treatment on women and their mental health?

peace to you

Whether or not you like it, these persons died because God chose to have them die by this demonic means. God could have denied this death, but God, according to His good purpose, allowed evil to do it's wicked work.
You can come up with a million "what ifs" to somehow change what happened, but the action has already happened. Now we are called to share compassion to those who are effected. Figuring out how to kill a person before they kill others is specifically given to the government God has established, not to Christians to act. If government wants to place police officers at the entrance then so be it. If they don't, then we move on.

Wait ! Which is it:
God chose to have them die
or
God, ..., allowed evil

Both. They are not contradictions. It's not either or.
Actually it is one or the other

I do not believe that God chose them to die -

and with that - I shall bow out with this discussion with you
all we can do is to agree to disagree
and with that - you can have the last word.

I know you cannot make the paradigm shift. If God is Sovereign over all things then God is ultimately the one who oversaw the evil action of this woman and chose the hour of each of these persons death.
This calls us to remember that not one person is righteous, no matter the age, and God is not evil for ending their lives at the time and through the circumstances of His choice. It is this mysterious problem of evil that we try to reconcile when God doesn't give us any indication that we need to reconcile this. God can do anything with His creation and He can bring His children home by any means He wills. As Job says "Shall we accept only the good and not the bad from God?"

You know, you may actually be right about this but you come across as arrogant, unfeeling and condescending when you say it.

I get that a lot. How people respond to what I say is out of my control. If I am wrong, then they are free to show me my error. I'm not going to sugar coat the Sovereignty of God just because it makes them feel uncomfortable.

I disagree. You do have control in how you say it.. As scripture says, “a kind word turns away wrath”, and Jesus said the world would know we are His disciples by the love we show for one another.

You show neither kindness nor love in these posts about God’s sovereignty.

I guess we could all work on that aspect of our relationship with God and each other.

peace to you

Given some opinions upthread, one might ask whether the police who shot the murderer were sinning, though they were agents of legitimate authority, which would (IMO) make their actions Biblically appropriate. What if, before the police arrived, a teacher/staffer with a legitimate concealed carry permit had taken down the shooter?

You are entitled to your opinion. I am not attempting to cause people to have a glowing, mushy, feeling of love when I write. A person's emotions are a function of a heart that is desperately wicked. Truth may not make you feel good. You have stated that what I have said is truth. I am content with that. God can take that truth and change the hearts of those he wills and the rest can remain in the hardness of their heart. That's for God to work out.
I am not you. I do not speak with your tongue. I am perfectly fine with that reality.

You sound like a 1980s Hewlett-Packard commercial. "What if..."
The reality is that what transpired took place, exactly as it did. We can learn from it and train for better measures in the future. The fact is that if the ban on assault rifles had been kept, instead of overturned, we would likely have avoided many mass shootings. But, that ship has sailed. Instead, we live in a world full of paranoid gun owners and PACs that are bent on preserving the capacity for paranoid gun owners to escalate the arms race in their own homes purely because it is good for business.
Look around and see the beast with his hands all over this.

Austin - A previous post stated " As scripture says, 'a kind word turns away wrath' ” (Prov 15:1"

I don't see where anyone said that or implied that.

This comment is uncalled for.
Sure. Every person that has claimed that teachers should carry guns in the school. It has been stated or implied on this thread. See post#13.

We have Christians who think having more firepower than someone else will therefore be a deterrent.

Now, if you have read this whole thread, you know I call this shooting demonic. Yet, those demons could not act on children of God without God saying yes to that action.

I know that people struggle to reconcile a loving God with that same God giving the order to allow evil to act and ultimately kill even His own children. But this is a truth expressed in the Bible so we have to accept it and realize that there is no human that is so pure that death isn't an option in God's perfect and good will.

Finally, if you know my past, you know that my family has had young children die because God ordained their death. We were called to praise God when he brought bad to our lives because...God tells us that his purposes are ultimately for our Good.

Thus, this tragedy in Tennessee has a good purpose in God's plans and we have to trust God and persevere through the pain, by faith, because there is no sight to go on.
