I agree that we must guard against seducing spirits.
I disagree that Christians singing "It Is Well (with my soul) in praise to God but accenting the 2nd and 4th beat is "seducing spirits".
Now, if you were talking about literally singing to rock music, country music, folk music, jazz music...depending on the actual music used... then I may agree.
But I cannot condemn Christians singing a distinct style of music that is sacred to worship while condoning hymns that use a worldly beat used in secular dancing.
I also disagree with those who condemned hymns for using "satanic" and worldly music a few centuries ago.
We are commanded by God not to condemn the worship of other believers as Jesus will make them stand.
It was wrong of the churches who condemned hymns when hymns were the "new cart".
It is likewise wrong for churches to condemn the praise of Christisns for accenting the "wrong" beat in their worship.
This is fun. We have to find a another mud pit to use, @Charlie24 . We are running out of fresh clay to make our mud balls.
I will start a thread (sometime) about the failure of churches regarding music. In short, churches lied to generations to enforce their ideas. I think they believed the lies and were just being irresponsible. But it created distrust nonetheless.
At least we met the deadline on not letting the sun go down on our anger. lol
I can't help that I'm from the old school and do my best to separate myself from all appearance of evil.
I can plainly see how the rock beat has taken control of some Churches to the point of ruination.
That's just the way I see it, and I will have no part of it. The rock beat has no place in house of God, period.
