We will have to wait until a more credible news source breaks the news. If it's true this should have grave implacations as to who we allow to serve in our military.

I believe that this is a harbinger of things to come. A few month back two Army recruiters were shot by a convert to Islam. People in this country simply don't understand the Islamic mind and religion.

Maybe so. But taken into account with the story about so many young people not being able to enlist due to other issues such as weight, education, etc., how many will we have left to serve in the military?

This cannot be true. Don't you all know that Islam is a peaceful religion.

The question is: Should we expect Muslims to act differently than this man did?

We should expect all people to not commit murder, regardless of his/her religion adherence or lack thereof. And when anyone does commit murder he/she should be prosecuted for it.

It shouldn't suprise us that muslims would do this as the foundation of the muslim religion is violent, not peaceful like the media and government is telling us.
This is just the beginning of the kinds of things that will happen unless people wake up, especially the church.
What is it going to take for America to see this?
The bible does say that unbelievers are spiritually blind.

Only if you stick your head in the sand.

We can't expect the unsaved to act like the saved.

You can't follow the devil and follow Christ at the same time.

Since most people, including in the United States are not Christians, are you saying we should expect this kind of action by most people?

What should be our response - as Christians and also as a nation? What should we do?

I'm saying that we cannot expect Christian behavior from unbelievers.

Let the legal, governmental justice system follow through.

As a Christian, we refuse to allow hatred to overcome us. We see this as the end result of all sin: death. That alone ought to make us tell people about Jesus.

I'm neighbors with a Muslim family. One of the sons recently returned home from a tour of duty in Afghanistan, where he served and served proudly. Why should great Americans like my neighbor be denied service? Didn't we learn any lessons after interning Japanese Americans in WWII? There are currently approx 20,000 Muslim Americans on active duty in our Armed Forces. Let them continue to serve proudly as they have done up to now.

I agree John, but you would surely agree that if your neighbor's sons started making statements that praised Islamic suicide bombers.. and start condemning US soldiers a little red flag should go up.

This guy should have been investigated and dealt with before this started, especially since the authorities had seen his blog posts.

Anyone in the US military that starts condemning the US and praising the terrorists should be court marshaled.

Of course! I'm simply saying we don't need to categorically deny service to those who enlist just because they're Muslim.

I agree, but I think we should reserve judgement and let the military investigate. We shouldn't presume negligence this early after the incident.
