Of course, I could mention that I helped my neighbor get a job at the Hyundai plant near here...he now can support his family.

Oh, I forgot, Ken...I hate America. My bad. I didn't mean to help anyone.

To be fair they are not interested in saving the companies. They are only interested in saving the Unions current contracts.

I do stand corrected.

Well, rbell, it's about time that the Republican Party was exposed for what it is - anti-American worker, anti-American manufacturing.

If the Republican Party had its way we would all be flipping hamburgers for a living.

The GOP is about as anti-American worker, anti-American manufacturing as the DNC is anti-Socialist anything.

We want to see American industry remain in the hands of private American businesses. We do not want to see American Auto manufacturing in the hands of a nationalized socialist bureaucratic nightmare with the Trades Unions in control of its boards of directors (i.e. CPUSA's "Bill of Rights Socialism).

I do not see why people think if the big 3 go bankrupt they will lose 3 million jobs. They will still make cars.

Because very few people will make a long term investment in a vehicle made by a bankrupt company. Anyone that says otherwise is just plain wrong.

I don't regard socialism as being a dirty word. I support programs such as Social Security and Medicare.

If they return to a fiscally viable company thru bankruptcy process and make a quality product at a good price, people will buy them.

As for me, if the UAW doesn't get off their high horse and get with the program, I have bought my last big 3 manufactured vehicle...ever.

Instead I will begin to purchase the superior American built Toyotas or Hondas or others proudly built by Americans in right to work states for a decent wage.

According to consumer reports, Ford has the best car this year. Also, GM and Ford both outsold the foreign car companies by a few million cars.

But the companies can't turn the same amount of profit per car sold due to the over-reaching demands of the UAW. They may have sold more cars but what is the difference in the balance sheets between the U.S. Automakers and the foreign guys? Which company's back is being broken by the UAW and which is not?

And yet they are failing! Why?

1. Because their cars cost $2,000 more each to make. No one can overcome that deficit.
2. LeBuick is right about Ford, hence my next point: except for Ford (and their resurgence might be too late), none of the Big 3 know how to make a good small car. The imports routinely kick their butts in this area. And Ford's were so bad, so long that the new ones they're putting out might not dig them out of the hole they're in.

Yeah, blame it all on the American worker trying to feed his family. Typical right-wing talking point.

I support the workers, but I do not support the Unions (and their fat cat reps). The autoworkers in the southern right to work states that do not have unions sure seem to be able to feed their families. Hum....

Meanwhile, manufacturing companies and workers continue to leave the rust belt in favor of less money and a lower cost of living...

and a job...

in right to work states.

Stop it, BB. You're messing up Ken's rant with facts.
