were I work is shutting down for 2 weeks. Can i get a bail out!! No and I am not asking for one. You know it is Christmas how long were they going to be shut down anyway. I lost over half my 401 K that's the way things go. When the new president starts sending me the checks it will all be great. YES WE CAN!!!

If they return to a fiscally viable company thru bankruptcy process and make a quality product at a good price, people will buy them.

As for me, if the UAW doesn't get off their high horse and get with the program, I have bought my last big 3 manufactured vehicle...ever.

Instead I will begin to purchase the superior American built Toyotas or Hondas or others proudly built by Americans in right to work states for a decent wage.

But the companies can't turn the same amount of profit per car sold due to the over-reaching demands of the UAW. They may have sold more cars but what is the difference in the balance sheets between the U.S. Automakers and the foreign guys? Which company's back is being broken by the UAW and which is not?

1. Because their cars cost $2,000 more each to make. No one can overcome that deficit.
2. LeBuick is right about Ford, hence my next point: except for Ford (and their resurgence might be too late), none of the Big 3 know how to make a good small car. The imports routinely kick their butts in this area. And Ford's were so bad, so long that the new ones they're putting out might not dig them out of the hole they're in.

I support the workers, but I do not support the Unions (and their fat cat reps). The autoworkers in the southern right to work states that do not have unions sure seem to be able to feed their families. Hum....
