Join the cause? Really?

The battle for the lost. The false teachers are leading many astray.

Well thats it for tonight folks as I have reading to do, gonna attend the men's study, and got some more false churches to research. I always make sure I contact ones that are heretical, and not just over secondary issues. Sure the Pentecostal Church down the road I disagree with on a number of issues, but I can't proclaim them heretical due to their view of the gospel.

Pretty much does it for me, too. Gotta work on pulpit committee issues (look over some resumes), call some pastors to fill our Sunday/Wednesday schedules for the next few weeks, figure out how to counsel a married couple having problems since we don't have a pastor to deal with it, work on the music list for Sunday, get the church bulletin info to the church secretary, contact/pray for a church member who just found out he has cancer, get ready for an interview tomorrow, go feed the calves/chickens/rabbits/ducks/turkeys...well, not much time for letter writing....

I admittedly haven't read the whole thread, but in my opinion neither Evan or the pastor should be smoking, it's bad for their health.

Really? You stopped at the pulpit committee thing?

Don't know what kind of rabbits. My son gets them from the chicken auction they hold twice a month; he breeds them, sells the babies for $5-$10 each when they're old enough.

I tried to be gentle and kind but the man admits to being gay, says repentance is not necessary, sin is not real, the gospel is all social and ethical... So sad... I told him this is not a secondary issue but an attack on the essentials of the faith. He told me my gospel tracts were embarrassing and not right. I sent him tracts that hit on the gospel.

The progressives are worse than the charismatics!! So sad. Perhaps I should not call anymore churches but let them call me but continue to write letters.

I sent him a tract by a CAlvinist by John Piper and a tract by an aminian ministry and they both hit the basic gospel.

Are you trying to build bridges or tear them down?

Neither just proclaim the gospel and call the false teachers to repentance. The most loving thing anyone can do is send a letter with a gospel trAct. I preached sin but also grace in the gospel tracts I included.

... Please do not cause division with sound churches on secondary issues (Bible translations, music, eschatology, Cal Vs. Armin), evangelism methods, alcoholic beverages, etc). ..

What you may not realize - is that for some groups - those are major issues....
