Mayo? Goodness, Blackbird. It's Miracle Whip.

Dad used to heat peanut butter, tomato and Miracle Whip sandwiches. Admit I never acquired the taste.

My husband puts tomatoes on everything. So let us know Blackbird when they are ripe.

I'm sure you didn't really mean that you need help planting [IMG] , but help eating them, right? [IMG]

My favorite tomato sandwich is tomato and fat free Oscar Meyer Balogne on Orowheat potatoe bread with Kraft real mayonaise with pepper.

I like peanut butter with vanilla ice cream and on waffles with maple syrup. Have you tried it on an apple with cheerios on top? My daughter Haven just saw this on Zoom the other day and tried it, it's not bad.

But peanutbutter and tomato sandwiches...I haven't tried.

Sorry you miss your friend Sherrie...hope it's only a temporary absense.

    Laurenda [IMG]

editted to say that immediately after posting this, I heard the Zoom song on the T.V. in the other room...weird huh? It's like all the times I am thinking of someone and the phone rings and it's them.

Yeah it was a really good season when you stop and think about it. OU has a winning tradition in many sports now. I guess they aren't just a football school anymore (just the school with the BEST football team). I really liked the fast paced game the Sooners played under Billy Tubbs, but Sampson has more than proved himself in the time he has been there. I just wish that Hollis Price could have helped him win his first NCAA Championship, but I guess we have to wait a little longer.

    Laurenda!

So, get the picture now! You are in the interragation room seated in a hardback chair in front of the wooden desk--Suddenly Blackbird turns on the flood lamp and its shinin' directly into your eyes--you see nothin' but that light--now, answer the questions and we will let your rebel friends go!!

When you are thinkin' about someone and then the phone rings and its the person you're thinkin' about--approximately how many times do you let the phone ring before you answer it?? I think we are on to a board Omen or somethin' here!

I mean, because my wife sometimes does the same thing--she was ridin' in the car with a buddy of hers and they were hummin' the song by Alabama--"The Closer You Get"--and then within two seconds of flippin the channel changer--they find Alabama singing that very same song!! They had to pull over on side the road--they were "flippin'" and stuff!

I can do the same thing on the phone--the phone can start ringin' and I'll be walkin' over to pick it up and I'll tell my wife--"Its your momma! I just know it!" and sur nuff . . . !!"

    Your buddy,
    Blackbird

Blackbird, it's interesting to know you have this gift but can't predict the last date of killing frost ...

    ;)

I may come down for tomatoes, should you resurrect the crop. But only if you have Miracle Whip and wear the robe we've prepared.

    rsr!!

I had nothin' to do with killin' those tomatoes--my board meterologist made a prediction--it was there in black and white "big as you please" and Blackbird choose to ignore the plea--as Arnold Swartsniger would say--"Bad Move!"

I'll have the Miracle Whip ready, brother! But when the US Army's 3rd Infantry is finished with its "light work" over in Iraq and they come home and we give um a big ole ticker tape parade--you may need to call on um to come with you when you try to put that robe on me---in a pastoral Nutshell just bring "plenty of firepower" with you when you come!!!

OK, OK, Blackbird. I know you're packing heat, so I'll leave the nice Benny Hinn jacket at home.

Maybe you wouldn't have lost the tomatoes if you'd sent in your pledge ...

A couple of you have privately asked about my absence these past few days so I will endeavour to explain and I hope it will not cause too much conflict here. If it does please forgive me.

Though I have enjoyed fellowship with you all in this particular thread, The postings in the wider fellowship of BB has been causing me much distress. There appears to be a growing acceptance of being insensitive to the feelings of others. Some in authority have indicated that this is acceptable and even "blowing the whistle" brings no response. I cannot see how I can contend with it on my own and indeed when I try the threads concerned appear to become even more heated.

    1) I feel that there is a difference between debate and Christian debate(the latter is concerned about grace as well as truth)
2)Christian witness is not enhanced by the tone and content of things that are being said about people of particular racial/national groups.

Though I am a pastor I do mix extensively with non-Christians in the community and I am aware of how shocked they would be at some of the postings we accept, yet we are the ones standing for the things of Christ.

I would like to assure you that I am happy to fellowship with you in some other way, but am finding this way a bit difficult now.

    yours, Jon.

jonmagee....I hope that you will not leave. I love my Scotland friend. [IMG] But you know that! You are truly a joy to know. I repect you, and I respect how you feel.

I dreaded this time to come....You were one of the reasons I had decided to stay myself.

I wish I could say something that would make you change your mind about leaving the board, for I would say it.

Through all the joking and kidding around, I have learned a lot knowing you. For that I am a better person.

Maybe rsr or jim could say it better than me and you would stay. This is just too sad for me.

    Brother JonMagee, Brother!

Between me and you--shucks! We've done forgot more about preachin' and councilin' than those birds on the other threads will ever know!!

I browse through the topics--and its the same ole thing over and over--right now there's a run on clothes--that seems to be the hottest and heaviest topic---and its the same ole thing! You gotta tie your shoe laces tight and have the knot in the middle and not on the side--you gotta tie your tie with two wraps around and not a single wrap--

Then there are folks who swear up and down that if you drive 1/2 of 1 mile per hour over the speed limit--why, you'll loose your salvation for sure!! Legalists I think is what they're called!

Anyway, stay with us, chum! We need ya!

I am sorry in the middle of this topic we had a tornado. It was headed East of us. It was a long time going on, or so it seemed. I do not know the damage right now, its dark. And right after it, we had a lightening show. It was very loud and you could hear electric humming in the air. Very dangerous storm and winds. Hail covered our lawn like snow in winter. We just now have electric back. Tornadoes are now headed toward Paducha Kentucky and on up.

I am deeply saddened by all that has happened on this board.

I am afraid it is the trash that is shown day in and day out on the news forum, bashing France and the like with the most unChrist-like attitude one can muster that did Jon in and frankly has me quite upset as well. It is bad enough that the trash newspapers must print this garbage, but that someone sits on their fanny all day going through the dustbins just to demonstrate it on here.

    So sorry to lose Jon.

    Not so cheery,

    Jim

Ok jim, that was going to be my next question...where are those two french guys who just joined. I just sent Nico a pm thanking him for joining the board. They had not responded, and now I see why. I guess I must have missed the topic. How are these people allowed to get by with all this? I noticed that compassion and love are not first on here anymore.

jonmagee is truly a good person. This is really sad.
