So in the beginning of Gen 1:1 it's before man was created. The elect are chosen to salvation before man was created

Not what the bible says BF. It is sad that so many om this board have fallen for the false teachings of calvinism. Even those that say they preach the word of God seem to have fallen for the ruse.

I do not believe these posters do not know "in the beginning" is used to refer to the beginning of the New Covenant. Check out Philippians 4:15

That's of creation BF, did you really not know this?
That's the beginning Gen 1:1

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

Chosen from the beginning 2 Thess 2:13

But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

Two different things BF creation and salvation. But since you do have an odd view of when one is saved I can understand your confusion.

Were the Thessalonians saved prior to responding to the gospel message as preached by Paul?

Lol no it's not., in fact Barnes wrote:

But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you; - see the notes on 2 Thessalonians 1:3. "Because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation." The following important things are affirmed or implied here:
(1) That God had chosen or elected them (εἵλετο heileto) to salvation. The doctrine of election, therefore, is true.

(2) that this was from "the beginning" ἀπ ̓ ἀρχῆς ap' archēs; that is, from eternity; see the John 1:1 note; Ephesians 1:4; Ephesians 3:9-11 notes. The doctrine of eternal election is, therefore, true.

(3) that this was the choice of the persons to whom Paul referred. The doctrine of personal election is, therefore, true

See 2Th 2:1-17 seems you do not study verses in context BF.
Are those in 2 Thess 2:12 the same ones in 2 Thess 2:13?

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:

If you had read 2Th 2:1-17 then you would know that there are some who refused the love of the truth that would have saved them 2Th 2:10-12 and some who are saved 2Th 2:1-7 we ask you, brothers, not to be easily disconcerted.

Are they the same people yes or no?

Can you not understand clear English BF?

Try reading it slowly this time.

If you had read 2Th 2:1-17 then you would know that there are some who refused the love of the truth that would have saved them 2Th 2:10-12 and some who are saved 2Th 2:1-7 we ask you, brothers, not to be easily disconcerted.

Well since we know from history where your theory came from, pagan philosophy, is it any wonder that your religion is at odds with the word of God.

For the sake of your soul do the research into the foundations of the religion that you hold. It is not the bible but rather pagan philosophy.

If you think I am wrong then do the hard work and prove me wrong. But I doubt you will.
My doctrine comes from scripture and only scripture.

Your “theory” of where my beliefs come from is simply wrong. I haven’t quoted anything other than scripture.

Peace to you

This is a test for you BF. Try to figure out whether they are or not. The text is clear but it seems to be beyond you to be able to find the answer.

See if this makes it easier for you

If you had read 2Th 2:1-17 then you would know
that there are some who refused the love of the truth that would have saved them 2Th 2:10-12
and some who are saved 2Th 2:1-7 we ask you, brothers, not to be easily disconcerted.
Now if you can't figure it out then you really have a problem.
