Supreme Court overturns Roe v. Wade in landmark opinion

This is a win, but it is not the ultimate win. Still much work to be done.

While not an end to abortion, it is a massive symbolic win. It is quite ironic the number of individuals on my Facebook I see that are angered over this, crying about women's rights - yet they ignore the millions of little women who have been murdered and their rights trampled because of Roe. It's not really about women's rights though, but we already knew that.

In the past, it is possible the court overreached its constitutional bounds and amended by judicial fiat the constitution. Roe had been a prime example, now corrected. But are there others, where the justices found provisions not stated, but read into the text? How about the Draft, saying since the right to raise an Army is in the Constitution, then every way to raise a Army is constitutional? That claim of course is hog wash. Does the constitution say it gives people the right to same sex marriage? How about birth control?

Take a phrase like "due process" and read into it unstated rights like privacy?

I hope this does not go too far off OP
But on a FB page, a liberal stated this:
"Y’all aren’t even cognizant enough to realize that this will go far beyond reproductive rights. Say bye-bye to HIPAA."

and this is just the beginning

don't know what this "person is getting at, RVW came long before HIPAA. HIPPA was a real law passed by Congress to protect electronic private health data. The states that outlawed abortion are not going to prosecute anyone who travels out of state to procure an abortion and use this thing to track them down. Someone from Idaho can come to my house and smoke a joint or do meth and they don't bust the person for drug use.

"Y'all aren't even cognizant enough", "reproductive rights", "bye bye to HIPAA" - misplaced condescension, euphemism for abortion on demand, cheap scare tactic - you have a real lefty there for sure.

It is. But it really just brings us to pre-Roe vs Wade days . . with the exception travel is more feasible. I anticipate people or organizations just paying travel expenses for those seeking abortions. I do not see a decrease in the killings. I believe they are that attached to evil (actually, I suspect God has turned them over to their wickedness).

One thing though - a 14 year old could make a quick trip to an abortion during lunch at school -
But if now she has to travel a couple hundred of miles - that may be hard to keep from mom and/or dad.

There are further ramifications, most definitely. All good in my opinion.

I wonder if the liberal who posted that has any problem with private companies (airlines, restaurants etc) demanding to see a Covid vaccine card before getting served?

peace to you

Well, I really don’t know that much about it, but it seems unlikely to me to be that simple. It is a medical procedure that would probably result in bleeding and other consequences that might take several days to physically recover from.

But, like I said, I don’t know for certain.

peace to you
