Jeremiah, in Japan kids take a minimum of six years of English from jr. high through high school. At the end of that time, very few can actually speak it because of the emphasis on grammar as opposed to conversation. I do not know a single Japanese who could read the KJV with much understanding, including an English teacher in our church and another retired English teacher who is my partner in translating the NT into Japanese from the TR. (There are currently no versions available in Japanese from the TR.) So simply because people in other countries study English doesn't mean a whole lot about Bible reading.

As for science articles in English, etc., I've know Japanese doctors very fluent in their specialty in English who couldn't converse their way out of a paper bag in normal conversation!

Preachers here might also consider the parallel with their knowledge of Greek. To them it isn't a language, it's a code: somebody took the NASB and scrambled it around into this funny-looking code, and their job is to decode it word-by-word until it looks like the NASB again. The point being, there's a world of dfference between being able to decode another language and being able to read it. Furthermore, most of those who can read Greek tolerably well cannot even recite John 3:16, and could not compose a literate paragraph without it sounding like those instructions you sometimes get in products made in China, where none of those involved in making the instructions is a native English speaker.

Secondly, this is a non-sequitur to the issue at hand.

All that proves is what we already know about English being one of the hardest to learn languages due to it's incorporation of multiple other languages.

habla es-spanole is definitely Spanish, but wait, many Englsih speaking people now speak it, that would grant it a place in the English dictionary very soon.

Umm...are you talking about National Sword Conference or the KJB Conference mentioned in the OP? If it's the latter of the two...that meeting isn't until January.

I received an email that says that there are two articles by Peter Ruckman in his December BBB paper about the editor of The Sword of the Lord entitled "Shelton Smith Adopts 'Ruckmanism!'" and "Shelton Smith Finally Sees the Light!"

LOL!! I soooo agree with you. In fact, I had to pay $140 for mine at the local Christian bookstore. It is a REAL KJB because it actually came right from Cambridge, England.

Your threat to cancel subscriptions is totally fruitless. Their paper is free to all who wish to obtain a copy.

My former IFB church had a subscription to SOTL and in 2006 I did see an ad within one of the issues that featured the choices of a 6-month subscription or a 12-month subscription for a set cost. Can't remember now what the cost was since I no longer have a copy of the issue but it was not necessarily cheap.

I am in favor of an unbiased report on the conference.
