OK...let's make the turn, Frenchy. You have posted God's word...which addresses here the issues of self-control and the spirit-led life (though not a dissection of musical styles). Now, using scripture, and good logic...show us in any of the worship service events that have been listed, how God is being disobeyed.

I know, I know... I get those people at the grocery store even! Man, I wish they'd stop following me!

Who here has been rude to you? Or is this like the other false things you've said that you have no intention of backing up?

Now Playing Glen Campbell – “Gentle on My Mind”

Now Frenchy, you did question someone's salvation. You admitted it later in the thread. You have called myself and others "troublemakers."

I don't mind the dialogue, but you did go over the top a couple of times. I'm ready to move on, but let's not deny fact.

Of course, if you don't see a problem with taking song lyrics out of context in order to try to manufacture a point, is it really that big a stretch to believe that you'd do the same with scripture?

Yeah, I hear the Bible says "there is no God."
ALL the lyrics were posted to the whole song so how can they be taken out of context? you are really grasping for straws on that one.

You're the one who said that REZ did songs about killing babies and songs that "glorify evil". Therefore, it's up to you to tell me what songs, not up to me to inventory their lyrics in the hope that something will stick
I didn't have to Standingfirminchrist did it for me and many more. guess you missed them.

Soooo then, why are we talking only about music?

Why not talk about the evils of oh say, NASCAR? Or, baseball? Or, Shopping! Yeah, lets have a discussion about shopping for clothes in a store where most certainly immodest choices are sold! Walmart for example.
This is why along with the fact that music effects people to do certain thngs that the things you mention DO NOT!

I wrote..For the record this was my main reason for the thread...You are right I would NEVER tell someone what they can or cannot listen too either. I said that before according to Romans 14 in several posts.

BUT I do expect the CHURCH and the CHURCH YOUTH GROUP to hold to higher standards than what we had experenced in a few churches. playing music labled "Christian" but yet was FAR from it. Do a search on Rez Band (thats a group) and tell me if that crap and stuff like it is fit and edifying for a youth group that MY children are in. NO IT ISN"T and the pastor even agreed with us on the matter but didn't have the whatever to do anything about it.

This is my beef not what one listens to in his own home but what is played in the CHURCH and what is handed to my KIDS at their Christian school.

With so many seeker services churches springing up this is the TOOL they use to draw the unsaved kids in with, music that sounds just LIKE THEIRS.

see where the problem is and why it is so prevelant and taking off more and more?
SEEKER MOVEMENT!!!

That's easy, MP. I got it off of AV1611.org.

Marilyn Manson is a godless pervert. Toby Mac is also listed on this webpage. Thus, Toby Mac is a pervert. If you like anything Toby Mac has ever done, then...well...

The Eagles are a bunch of addicts. They sang the Satanic anthem "Hotel California." Rebecca St. James once stayed in a hotel in California. Thus, Rebecca wants you to do drugs, and says so, backward, in her songs.

OK, Frenchy...

I've seen you in other threads get all over folks who say we need to "dress up" for worship. You are bothered by their legalism.

Do you see an inconsistency here?

Frenchy...please quit simply copying and posting your identical responses. I'm coming up with new material. You do the same.

I didn't have to Standingfirminchrist did it for me and many more. guess you missed them. </font>
No, I responded to what he said, but you implied that they sang songs condoning killing babies. In reality, what SFiC was referring to was an anti-abortion song that condemned the killing of babies and spoke against it.

So for you to bring this song up as an example of them singing songs that advocate killing babies is another in a seemingly endless example of dishonest statements on your part.

We're still waiting for you to show where REZ has sung any songs advocating or condoning the killing of babies, sung songs that "glorify evil" or where I have questioned Kathy Triccoli's salvation or said that the artists I've played with are not Christians.

Now Playing: Jimmy Cliff – “Wonderful World, Beautiful People”

</font>
I think Frenchy, and I, could use some brushing up on etiquette too, but the routine on BB seems to be this:

1. Strike someone with a soft blow
2. When they return fire with a round-house-right, fall down and play hurt to the sympathies of the crowd.

That's what sets me off. You go into a DEBATE forum, and when DEBATING begins, people want to pretent they're hurt, poor babies, to distract from the facts of the discussion. And because I haven't used a profusion of fluffy words and haven't repeatedly told everyone how much I "love" them, I'm told that I need to read Ephesians 4 or something.

Some of you have a soft, effeminate love, if indeed it's not a debating ploy. Quit ye like men. Stand up and say what you believe!

BTW to the moderator, I thought that picture of the witch was inappropriate. Yes, it HURT my feelings. :(

Crying

(I know some reading this won't get the sarcasm, so let me explain - I'm not really hurt and crying - I think that's childish)

Joshua...this is what i said about Sandi Patty, why do i have to keep repeating myself? people are not reading all the post i take it.

Yes I know MP, the music i have was before she (Sandi Patty) did that and i haven't bought any ever since. just goes to show what happens when you are in the public eye and get all that fame. your eyes turn off Christ and on self and what man thinks.

Makes me sick to see parents who want to make their children to become STARS not realizing the pain and heart aches and SIN they will have to indure all for the price of fame. NOT WORTH IT i say.

Bible says "you can't serve two master either you will love the one and hate the other"
doesn't change the fact her music is sounder and healthier than most of the "secular christian" stuff today, and is still worth listening to.

Don't be too sure...the last year I am sure about is 1600. Those young hoodlums started sneaking in devil music during the first decade of the 17th Century, the way I understand it.
