My friend is a current BJU grad student he says that BJU churches will separate from The Way of the Master churches and those in the SBC. To what end and for what reason? I mean how can this approach be Biblical?

While many of the SBC are fundamentalists, the Convention as a whole has not been. Initially, pre-WW2, the SBC didn't like the non-denominational aspect of the movement (getting together with Methodists and Presbyterians). Since the 50's, BJU and the SBC have gone their separate ways. So, your observation is nothing new.

I see. Thanks for letting me know. Looking for a good solid Calvinist church to visit when I go back to Greenville. Not interested in a BJU or KJVO type of fundamentalist church.

BJU is a Fundamentalist School. They have not had anything to do with SBC for decades now so there is nothing new here. As for WOTM it also comes down to separation, and lets face it Ray Comfort does not practice separation to the degree that Fundamentalist believe is Biblical.
Besides everyone practices separation one way or another. You yourself have stated on this board that you will never set foot in a IFBC again. That is separation. How is your approach to IFBC Biblical?

Well because I do not agree with the legalism and arminian theology so I have decided not to associate with them. Dozens of BJU IFB churches in SC so I will make sure to attend a baptist Calvinist church.

So in other words you don't think its unbiblical to separate over disagreements in doctrine. Therefore you just have an axe to grind with BJU for some reason.
BTW I went to a Calvinist Baptist church with a BJU grad as a pastor.
Its the Bible Belt you will have your pick of churches. No reason to attack BJU for their stances.

Would someone clarify what "Way of the Master churches" are? Is this some sort of fellowship or association with which churches affiliate? Do they have a doctrinal statement?

Thanks.

It is churches that use Way of the Master materials when teaching their congregation witnessing techniques. That is it. Beyond that they can have a wide range of doctrinal positions.

Churches that use WOTM materials and videos to show their congregation how to witness. Besides that they can be charismatic, SBC, Reformed Baptist, and the like.
