To quote the nationstates FAQ "You can't just obey the resolutions you like and ignore the rest, like real nations do." So I have to give the UN part of game a miss :(

Starting to throw 2¢ around on forums though :D

I am im Dun Eideann 2

I was a Rigtht Wing Utopia, but am now listed as a moralistic democracy.

A debate has just begun in my region on UN Resolution 12 which is falsly called the "Gay Rights" resolution.

I am arguing for its repeal not on a "religious" basis but on the right of nations to self-determination.

I have openly stated in my region thay my nation will not obey Resolution #12 and will leave the UN if the law is not repealed.

I posted the link to it in my last post. It's the "The Colony of Christian Patriots". [IMG]

I'd guess that one of the reasons you can't declare that you won't follow a particular UN resolution is that the benefits as well as the costs of each resolution are spread out to those participating in the UN.

I'll wait for resolution 12 to be recended before joining.

Until then, C4K, be a mighty ambassador and fight for us. :D

Daisiland's tax rate was lower than the composite rate of the US.... effectively our government is more socialist than Daisy is. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

rsr, I've been spending the 2¢ now and then on forums, and my economy has improved from Imploded to Basket Case. Just relaxed some laws for big business so maybe my economy will move up to Fragile again...and I'll be able to spend another 2¢ [IMG] (unless that fiddle breaks something else  [IMG] )

But hey, LogosTheos may be a bit short of cash at the moment, but at least our crime rate is better Elmotopia's [IMG] [IMG] :D (until I make the next law that is [IMG] )

Wow...4 of the BB nations are in "Inoffensive Centrist Democracy" class...

...meanwhile my shaky economy is just starting to pick up, but now I'm called a "Psychotic Dictatorship"

Oh well, I guess it's nothing anyone here didn't already suspect ;) :D

</font>[/QUOTE]Mmmmmaybe, but Daisiland doesn't have to support a corrupt bureaucracy (yet), the expense of two simultaneous wars or a crippling debt.

Neither does "Libertas Domus"... and my country doesn't pay onerous taxes or have a nanny state to deal with. Civil Rights are excellent and the economy is strong. Not precisely sure how "political freedom" has been restricted... maybe I haven't been asked the right questions yet.

One thing I don't like about this thing is that they don't always give a "right" answer on each issue.

For instance, should the national animal be on the table? Why not? But it doesn't take a gov't action to cause something that is already legal. Extinction? If our environmental friends are concerned about it... I just gave everyone a very healty tax cut, they should build a private reserve.

    I dismissed the issue.

BTW, you've made a nice comeback by raising your tax rate from 20% to 26%... it is showing on your economy though.

I thought I would take a chance on that issue, now this is what my nation page says:

"Christian Patriots's national animal is the lion, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the liberty dollar."

    http://www.nationstates.net/christian_patriots

Mine was listed as that for the first few days, but they have since changed mine to "Left-Leaning College State".

See what I mean. The idea is so pervasive that if gov't doesn't do or cause something it won't happen... that we have to deal with constant fallacies of limited alternatives.

I passed on the question that would put the national animal on the main dish menu.
My national motto after all is: "Don't eat me".

Chicken may taste good for some but not in MY state...cluck, cluck, cluck

I've started a couple of spares [IMG]

Horsetrailya is my youngest (at the moment). It's currently a "Right-wing Utopia". But although Civil Rights are Rare vs Few, Economy is Developing vs Thriving, and Political Freedoms are Few vs Very Good...I'ld still rather the situation in LogosTheos because crime is totally unknown vs a problem with 50 million people against 9 mil [IMG] Generally I don't think I've been too nasty to the population in LogosTheos, it's just when I go for an option on an issue it backfires on me  [IMG]

Excruciatia is my middle child, and boy has it got ISSUES [IMG] This is my country to be as nasty as I possibly can be towards. Strange part is that the other day I had an issue suggesting killing all the artists and poets and thought "Yeah, that's cool, why not!"...But though I just made that country to joke around in I still couldn't allow unborn baby murder there...Weird huh? Right, voting on a lot of the frivlous issues will probably earn you a "Psychotic Dictatorship" designation.

I didn't actively raise the tax; that probably happened because I didn't agree to raise tariffs on imported autos, but I don't really know.
