I do not consider Billy Graham to be a Christian brother. Let's start a new thread at some point and dedicate attention to this gentleman at another time.

Let's focus on the facts and not on slamming each other.

I don't want to slam anybody, but I went to Texe Marr's website and he's got some far out there ideas. He claims the alliance between the U.S. and Israel is the great whore of babylon. I've never heard that one before. He also has a real hatred for Jews. He says they control the world among other not so nice statments. Also, check out the links he posts on his site. There are other Jew hating sites along with Gail Riplinger and other out there people. I would be very cautious of this guy. I would say he makes a fortune off the tapes and books he sells..all his of course. Rufus, you should do some serious investigating before you endorse this fellow. :1_grouphug:

Now isnt that the pot calling the kettle black. You list lots of antichrists. That may or may not be true. Seems like you and this Marrs fellow exhibit some mean spirited ideas. Your idea of what the Bible says does not make it Truth. What the Bible says makes it Truth.

If we return to the original post, claims were made that a Baptist Preacher named Texe Marrs was an "American Nightmare". Subsequent posts suggested he was a "nut", "insane", and that he was bad for selling ministry materials. The case for Mr. Marre being any of these things has not been made. The fact that he makes a case for W being a sodomite and Billy Graham being a wolf does not make him insane as there is, at a minimum, circumstantial evidence to support his claims. If you believe I am on a "hate campaign" or I am a witchhunter who should have been born in Salem, then perhaps you should present a case for why this is so. I love Jesus Christ and I love Christians but I am opposed to pope kissing ecumenicists. If that makes me mean-spirited then so be it.

Well, having been involved for years in the New Age and the occult, and having been in full-time ministry for these areas since '98 and having written and spoken on them, I can tell you that Texe Marrs is not an expert on the New Age. Also, his baseless accusations of people and his conspiracy theories tend to make people think of him as a nut. I have not called him a nut nor will I do so, but I do tell people to pay no attention to him as many of his statements I've read have no support and are sometimes ludicrous.

The way the New Age gets into our culture is not through some company having a symbol that Texe Marrs thinks is occultic, but through practices that appear spiritual and even Christian. This is one of my big concerns and I write and speak on this all the time. Because Texe Marrs points his finger at the wrong things, people are not seeing the real dangers.

While I am not aligned with your above stated positions, I appreciate your post and appreciate your ministry. I don't see any Texas stops on your schedule but should you ever get to these parts, I would be delighted to take in one of your lectures.

I think Billy Graham compromised and Marrs is a certifiable nut job or else con artist... go ahead and attack.

Well, thank you very much for saying this, Rufus! It's so much better to be nice to each other even when disagreeing. :)

Who knows when the Lord will get me to Texas - so just check my schedule now and then if you think of it. :flower:

You would do well to read my post again since the point clearly left burn marks on your forehead as it went zooming over..... *HINT* It has nothing to do with Christians selling anything.

Amen to the nut job. While Bush's policies drive me up the wall at times, and Billy Graham has made mistakes, both have acheived things in life that myself or Mr Rufus never will. They are not perfect, but I do not see anything inherently evil in either.

Keeping the following verses in mind...

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." - John 14:6

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" - 1 Timothy 2:5

...do you believe any of the below quotes to be evil?

    1. Q: Do we all worship the same God, Christian and Muslim
A: I think we do. We have different routes of getting to the almighty.
Q: Do Muslims go to heaven in your mind
A: Yes they do. They have different routes of getting there.
    2. "We believe that Jesus Christ is one with the Father and the Holy Spirit, and that He is, was, and forever shall be God and is the one mediator between man and God."
    3. "When asked whether he believes heaven will be closed to good Jews, Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus or secular people, though, _____ says: "Those are decisions only the Lord will make. It would be foolish for me to speculate on who will be there and who won't ... I don't want to speculate about all that. I believe the love of God is absolute. He said he gave his son for the whole world, and I think he loves everybody regardless of what label they have."

Evil is a word you like to throw around. The above quotes are unBiblical, an apostacy, etc. Look, we have been through these quotes time after time in the Billy Graham thread. You know, old news. Like Calvinism vs free will. Know what I mean, it gets old.

If Mr Graham said those quotes, (glad you were there to hear it), then he is dead wrong and would make one very wary of him. When if ever did he say them? Never once in a message of his did I hear such. Frankly, not going down the Graham path again. It has been tread over and over.

Now, the things you accuse Mr Bush of you offer no proof. Just words. (again were you there, if you were, that would be interesting).

Scott is right. This guy is a nut case. We can all read the Bible and glean the Truth from it with the Holy Spirit. Really, dont think you have special insight.

"They are not perfect, but I do not see anything inherently evil in either." - Saturneptune

All of them? What do you believe is unbiblical in quote number 2?

I'm not resurrecting a Billy Graham argument. It was contended that one of the reasons Mr. Marrs is a nut, is because he believes Graham is of the devil.

Only one of the quotes is from Billy Graham and it was quoted from Newsweek, not typically considered to be a fringe publication.

    Alrighty.

I have not indicated that I have proof. I have indicated that their is sufficient circumstantial evidence to merit the argument, without one being considered an American Nightmare etc. There is enough evidence to support the contention and were it considered criminal, to launch an investigation. Maybe we can put Kenneth Starr on the case?

As much as I have not proven that W is a sodomite, you nor Scott or the others, have proven that Marrs is a nut case.

Yes, and I am the green man from Mars who crashed the saucer into Roswell in 1947. You have not proven otherwise. (or should I have spelled that Marrs). Lots can be achieved with common sense.

Nothing is wrong with quote 2. Again common sense.

These quotes sound like Joel Osteen to me. Number 2 is the only true statement.
There is no doubt that Marrs has a problem with the Jews and I haven't seen this addressed.

Jesus Christ had a problem with the Jews. Somewhere out there is a group that say they are Jews but are not and are of the synagogue of satan. This is a really involved topic but a Baptist preacher, preaching against a group who by Biblical definition have the spirit of antichrist (1 John 4:3), should not be a cause for automatically discrediting him.
