For a much more in depth treatment of this issue, I highly recomend John Frame's book; CONTEMPORARY WORSHIP MUSIC: A BIBLICAL DEFENSE.

I need to buy a copy of that. What amazed me was that at BJU that hated anything with a beat, but they used a Frame book in a apologetics class, but did not agree with what he has to say about music.
