Well! The store next door?? I've been checkin' on it--the owner is a cult member--belongs to the Branch Somethin' or 'nother's--that's all I need--I buy the place and set up my Pro Shop--but the FBI, CIA, and the ATF folks still think the Branch folks are there with some sort of "front" for their operations--talk about an embarrassment--they come chargin' in with those batterin' rams and they see all those BAR's(firin' pins removed and safely locked up--)--theeeeeeen they give Blackbird a "Pat Down" and cuff him up and there goes my ordination papers--Southern Baptist's won't let me preach anymore with that sort of testamony---whether I did anything or not!!

No! Too risky!! There's no news camera in Dexter that can "bleep" out Blackbird's face as they press him into the backseat of the Sheriff's car!! Everybody will know its me! Everybody will see what I look like---heck! Nobody on this board knows what "the Blackbirdy" looks like!! Ya'll can be watchin' Billy Graham on TV--and for all ya'll know--that's Blackbird doin' one of his best impersonations--"If you're up in the balcony--start makin' your way up front right now! Your friends will wait on you! The buses will wait!" "If you wish to drop me a note please write me--Billy Graham, Minnapolis, Minnasota! That's all the address you'll need!"

I was visiting one of my church members in the Baptist Hospital up in Jackson not long ago--they have one of those corners of the lobby sectioned off and there is a little mini-coffee shop there---cups go for $1.29--I always stop and get me a cup for the drive home!!

Gotta go! Be back on later! Been a while since I've posted a sermonette for all of the Christianettes on the board--may do that later!!

Your Southern Baptist preachin', Billy Graham impersonatin' buddy,

Blackbird

Oh my...it's not going to be blustery in this thread too is it?

Blackbird...please, revisit the Coffee Shop poll....I posted a response to your response to me.

Betty, I thought it was Charlotte that joined...you mean to tell me that Wonderingone did too? How did I get so blessed?

I feel a little better...have to go cook dinner for the family now...and you can bet your peapicking heart...is sure ain't gonna' be Gumbo.

(only because the only ingredient I got out of Blackbird was tobasco?)

I wish I could just order a Pizza...I am so achey...but if I don't cook...the family will eat cold bowls of cereal...isn't that sad? I think so too. ;)

Bye kids. Have a nice weekend.

Alright then Jon....how was your day? Mine was somewhat different. Between trying to read my Bible I had the pleasure of my 23 year old daughter today. She is very demanding. I did not remember that, until we were in the middle of our visit. Whew! I then took her to work and sighed some relief. I, tho, have to pick her up from work too, her husband went to St. Louis to watch a cardinal Baseball Game and won't be home until very late.

Well it will be morning for you.

No devotional from Jim today? Guess he was busy designing those Italian Villa plans.

Hi everyone!

Sorry, I didn't do a devotional to-day. Just didn't get around to writing it out. If you would like to read it for yourself, it was 1 Sam 23: 1-13......It is a direct parallel to the recent war in Iraq; the war to relieve a people from a tyrant.

In this we see the perseverance of David in prayer and seeking the face of God in his decisions. Sometime we pray for God's guidance. We don't like the first answer, so we ask again. Still not the right answer, and so, we ask again......Aha,,,,that's wot I wanted to hear....You see, God agrees with this plan for me. Have you done that? I have......and I have paid the price too. I once thought it was the Lord's will to go to a certain church. This pastorate lasted about 8 months and we parted company mutually. It was a disaster. I was much more careful the next time around.

God knows men better than we know ourselves.....Verse 12, "Then said David, Will the men of Keilah deliver me and my men to the hand of Saul? ANd the Lord said, They will deliver thee up."

God knew the circumstances better than we can imagine, and wot the outome would be. At best we can only guess at the outcome, or make an educated guess. I would rather trust a God who does not speculate or guess, but knows beyond a shadow of doubt.

This was the kernal of my morning devotions. Sorry I missed this morning.

Cheers,

Jim

I'm thinking maybe Blackbird ought to hire Jim to design the interior of his Bass Boutique. If I can be a consultant, we can develop a unique style: Redneck Rococo. It'll be all the rage in the Downtown District: tasteful red slate point-of-sale racks for the lures and rods, fountains (with statuary) for the live bait, propane-fired braziers for the inner courtyard (to double as barbecue pits). Just think of it: a model of Vesuvius spewing gumbo for the diners next door.

Just a thought.
