Kids are great. You have a pm in the waiting room. ;)

Well I have some errands to run...have fun everyone. Please remember to pray for me. I just can't stop crying.

Help Betty paint? Believe it or not, I actually tackled my fear of painting Saturday morning. I am not done, but I got the entry way and one long wall going to the kitchen completed. That is some hard work. But it sure makes the place look nicer. I had wall paper on the lower half of the wall, but wallpaper doesn't stick in my climate, so I pealed it off.

Let me tell you...wall paper peeled off really wrecks walls. Here where I live they texturize the interior walls. Anyway...the paint reminds me of what the house looked like when it was new. Now if I could just get this ugly carpet replaced.

Blackbird...I think you should look into leasing the adjoining building to the coffee shop...Your "little business" looks to take over the place. And I don't know about everone else...but motor oil and tractor parts are not conducive to restful coffee drinking. Or is my female nose just too sensitive? ;)

Boy, I'm really behind.

Happy anniversary, Ed and Betty. You kids, you.

Did Blackbird try to sneak in some live bait? Anybody remember the WKRP episode with "Red Wigglers, the Cadillac of Worms?"

I see we're at an impasse on Blackbird's tractor parts shop. I propose this solution: The shop is allowed, but it's strictly a catalog business. We can look at the catalogs but Blackbird won't have any inventory to clutter up the place. (It's not like the dealers ever have the parts in stock, anyway.)

I wondered why the doughnuts tasted, well, different.

Now that Sue is a veteran fisherperson, she can help out at the Bass Boutique.

Thanks for the hymn, Sherrie.

Other refuge have I none, hangs my helpless soul on Thee;
Leave, ah! leave me not alone, still support and comfort me.
All my trust on Thee is stayed, all my help from Thee I bring;
Cover my defenseless head with the shadow of Thy wing.

I've been praying for you as you have for me. We've just got to be patient and trust in the Lord for him to take care of it.

hey Stephen, I am not a big fan of telly, but I never missed an episode of WKRP, even the reruns. Loved that show. It was decent and extremely funny......then, it did have a Canadian as a star....lol

Cheers,

Jim

Hello everyone!!
wave.gif

We had a busy time this weekend. We (mostly my wife) decided that we needed to get a new couch for the living room. The one we have was given to us by my mother-in-law a few years ago when they got a new one. So we looked several places Saturday and finally found one we liked. We ended up getting the matching loveseat and a new coffee table and end table also. Hopefully that will keep my wife happy for a while. They should be delivered sometime this week. After that we cleaned the house and did laundry which took up pretty much all the remaining time this weekend.

Sherrie, I tried to email you but I got a message back saying that it timed out and wasn't delivered. Have you been having problems with it? If not, it may be on my end. It has seemed like our junk email messages have slowed down recently. I did finally get the email you sent yesterday. I haven't had time to study the picture closely yet, but I saw 6 of them at first glance.

rsr, glad you had time to stop by. I hope eveything is going well in your area of Oklahoma.

Hi everyone...got the errands done, and walked my morning mile, and I am even washing clothes. Made my bed, and I am working around the computer. How original...hu ;) .

Oh Rod, hon, how long did you say you had been married? Living Room furniture is only the foot in the door. Oh man, I see you are just a youngster to this. See it will be a new washer/dryer next. Maybe even a new Kitchen set. Oh guess what Rod, you are going to need new curtains, and a rug to match the couch. Oh and you will need a new flower arrangement on the coffee table. It just started Rod...Just started. You are talking to a pro here....I know.....yes indeedy....I know. ;)

rsr I have 2 more songs...but I am saving them for the right time. "JESUS, LOVER OF MY SOUL

"....its says everything doesn't it.

If we let blackbird have a catalog dept. in here he will want counter space, and a display shelf of some sort.

And who will work it. and then there is the returns. hmmmmmmm..... will you rsr? You are our star reporter..we can't have you doing that!

Sherrie, we did go to Wal-Mart and pick out new curtain panels for the windows to match the new furniture.

My wife also called me on my lunch break to tell me she bought a new lamp shade for the lamp in the living room. Do you think I'm in trouble now.

The good news is the washer is only a few months old and the dryer is only 1-2 years old so hopefully they will last a while. The house is only 4 ½ years old so hopefully there won't be too many more changes.

I forgot to add on our anniversary (June 28) we will have been married 6 years. So I still have a lot to learn. Are you saying this is a never ending process of replacing older things with newer things??? She will have to stop at least for a while. After this large purchase we can't afford to buy anything else for a while.

I did ask her if the bedroom was next. (Probably wasn't a very smart thing to do looking back
) She said that she was happy with it (at least for now) and had no plans to change it. The only thing in the living room we didn't change was the TV cabinet. If it doesn't match when the new things get here I am sure we will start looking to replace it also.

Had a fairly decent day in Paducah. Now I am on my way to Memphis to find out more about the car I'm wanting to buy. I did a check at carfax.com, and I liked most of what I saw. But I am concerned about how someone could put 90,000 miles on a car in three years.

I have two more interviews for teaching positions in Arkansas on Friday, so things might be looking up for me job-wise for a change

Rod, I'm trying to give my dining room table and chairs to our son so I can have a new one. It seems he doesn't need it. I just can't seem to find an excuse to buy a new one, other than I WANT one.

Just as soon as son moves into his condo, I am moving furniture around from room to room. Ed just told me he will have to work late that week.
(He doesn't even know what week it is) But I have three grandsons that will help me.

Actually, Ed better get involved to protect his valuable collections of old record albums and all those books he has and then there is some sort of electronic stuff I can't seem to find a use for.

Then there is a shelf full of computer programs, games, etc. I don't ever see anyone using them.

I had better be careful because I just saw some kind of list of things that he thought I didn't need. oops....

He actually thinks I should clean out my closet of clothes. :D
