rsr!! Thanks for Sherrie's advise--for giving it to her!! I know a little bit about mowers and stuff like that--and its true--there is always that teeny chance that the engine could start--if its electric start--something could short out and the starter could do something the fixer may regret--or like you said--just the slightest turn of the blade while taking it off just might cause an unwelcome trip to the emergency room--and that would mean a tetnis shot, a this shot and a that shot, stitches, pain, and a bill which means more pain--and then Kenny would be in some kind of deeeeeeeeeeepppppp hock when Sherrie gets home!!
I was runnin a "weed wacker"(hey, thats what we call um down here!) one time--there close to the gravel driveway and suddenly the thing picked up a rock and slung it into the side window of my trusty pick-up truck--shattered it to kingdom come!! So I tell my wife--"No problem! I can fix it! After all, what can a truck window cost anyway! I'll do it myself and save taking it to the body shop!!"
So I go to the glass place where they sell auto glass and I tell um what I want and they say, "You want this kind or that kind??"
"Well, whats the difference?"
"One is more expensive than the other!"
"Give me the one that ain't so expensive!"
"That'll be 75 dollars plus tax!"
"Ouch!! Seventy five doughnuts?? How much would it be to have ya'll install it?"
"Sir, you don't want to know!!"
So, for all of us "Do it yourselfers" out there who mow, weed wack, dig in flowers, burn limbs and leaves and junk--lets be careful--
Over at my father-in-law's farm in Alabama he has a post hole auger that attaches to the tractor--and everytime one of us wants to use it--my wife's Granddaddy will give us "the lecture!"
"BOOOOOOY! You be careful with that thing!"
"Yes Sir, Granddaddy! I will!"
"BOOOOOOY! That thing 'ull grind you up like sausage!"
"Yes Sir, Granddaddy!"
And he's right! So for all of us Do it Yourselfers--again I say--be careful!
