For a little variety today, my sweet wife and I did a ten-mile bicycle ride. We usually walk for 30 to 60 minutes in the neighborhood each day. Sometimes it is hard to put those walking shoes on and get out the door. But I find that once I get out there, I do enjoy it. It makes me feel good physically and mentally.
Walking is the most popular form of physical activity. Whether it be for fitness, weight loss, or relaxation, walking is fun and free! It's a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy God's creation--on foot! Walking is so simple--you don't need a big pile of specialized sports equipment! One block, two, then three--you can gradually work your way up to one mile, two, then three!
We have a big, framed poster on the wall near our back door. The printing on it reads: "Presenting Two Powerful Weapons In The Fight Against Heart Disease". Beneath the caption there is a picture of a pair of walking shoes. --Jed
