The Doctrines of Grace, as Seen in the Old Testament.

A more accurate statement would be that Cal i it's use the Old Testament to try to support their philosophy.
But the actual doctrine of the "T" is the first head of doctrine.

Total Depravity;

“Here we are dealing with the nature and extent of sin, and the point is that we are all radically sinful,
so much so that we cannot take even the smallest steps toward God unless he first intervenes”

The Fall of the Race in Adam. “It is . . . a description of human beings in an utterly ruined state,
a state from which we are unable to deliver ourselves and in which we might all have been left to perish, and justly so”

1. Man is constituted a sinner by his relationship with Adam.

Psa 51:5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
Psa 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

2. Man is therefore unable;
To do anything good;
Gen 6:5 And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth,
and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
Job 15:14-16 What is man, that he should be clean? and he which is born of a woman, that he should be righteous?
Behold, he putteth no trust in his saints; yea, the heavens are not clean in his sight.
How much more abominable and filthy is man, which drinketh iniquity like water?
Psa 130:3 If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand?
Psa 143:2 And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.
Pro 20:9 Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
Ecc 7:20 For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not.
Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;
and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
Jer 13:23 Can the Ethiopian change his skin or the leopard its spots? Then may you also do good who are accustomed to do evil.
He is blinded and corrupt in his heart
Gen 8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake;
for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.
Ecc 9:3 This is an evil among all things that are done under the sun, that there is one event unto all: yea,
also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that they go to the dead.
Jer 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?

Unconditional Election;

God is Sovereign;

Exo 15:18 The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.
1Ch 29:11-12 Thine, O LORD, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty:
for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O LORD, and thou art exalted as head above all.
Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might;
and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all.
2Ch 20:6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen?
and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
Psa 22:28 For the kingdom is the LORD'S: and he is the governor among the nations.
Psalm 103:19 The LORD hath prepared his throne in the heavens; and his kingdom ruleth over all.
Daniel 4:34-35 And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me,
and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion,
and his kingdom is from generation to generation: And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing:
and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven,and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand,
or say unto him, What doest thou?
Isaiah 46:9-10 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done,
saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.
Proverbs 16:9 A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.

He exercises that sovereignty in actively ordaining everything;
Deu 32:39 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal:
neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.
1Sa 2:6-8 The LORD killeth, and maketh alive: he bringeth down to the grave, and bringeth up. The LORD maketh poor, and maketh rich:
he bringeth low, and lifteth up. He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth up the beggar from the dunghill,
to set them among princes, and to make them inherit the throne of glory:
for the pillars of the earth are the LORD'S, and he hath set the world upon them.
Job 9:12 Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou?
Job 12:6-10 The tabernacles of robbers prosper, and they that provoke God are secure; into whose hand God bringeth abundantly.
But ask now the beasts, and they shall teach thee; and the fowls of the air, and they shall tell thee: Or speak to the earth, and it shall teach thee: and the fishes of the sea shall declare unto thee. Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
Psa 33:11 The counsel of the LORD standeth for ever, the thoughts of his heart to all generations.
Psa 115:3 But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.
Psa 135:6 Whatsoever the LORD pleased, that did he in heaven, and in earth, in the seas, and all deep places.
Isa 14:24 The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:
Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

God elects [i.e. chooses, predestines, foreordaines]; Individuals to salvation;
Psa 65:4 Blessed is the man whom thou choosest, and causest to approach unto thee, that he may dwell in thy courts:
we shall be satisfied with the goodness of thy house, even of thy holy temple.
Isa 43:6-7 I will say to the north, Give up; and to the south, Keep not back: bring my sons from far, and my daughters from the ends of the earth; Even every one that is called by my name: for I have created him for my glory, I have formed him; yea, I have made him.

Limited Atonement;

God purposed to redeem a certain people and not others;

1Ch 17:20-21 O LORD, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.
And what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his own people,
to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?
It is for these in particular that Christ gave his life;
Is 53:10-11 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin,
he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many;
for he shall bear their iniquities.

Irresistible Grace;

Faith and Repentance (as well as the new heart which is able to produce them) are themselves gifts of God;

A new heart;
Deu 30:6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.
Eze 11:19 And I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within you; and I will take the stony heart out of their flesh,
and will give them an heart of flesh: That they may walk in my statutes, and keep mine ordinances, and do them:
and they shall be my people, and I will be their God.
Eze 36:26-27 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh,
and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes,
and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
The Father writes his own word upon (places the fear of himself in, etc.) his people's hearts;
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel;
After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts;
and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 32:40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good;
but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

The beginning of salvation is the sovereign impartation of spiritual life into a heart which had been dead, thereby causing it to exercise faith;
1Jo 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God:
and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
Eze 37:3-6, 11-14 And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord GOD, thou knowest.
Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD.
Thus saith the Lord GOD unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
And I will lay sinews upon you, and willbring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live;
and ye shall know that I am the LORD....Then he said unto me, Son of man, these bones are the whole house of Israel:
behold, they say, Our bones are dried, and our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.
Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD;
Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel.
And ye shall know that I am the LORD, when I have opened your graves, O my people, and brought you up out of your graves,
And shall put my spirit in you, and ye shall live, and I shall place you in your own land:
then shall ye know that I the LORD have spoken it, and performed it, saith the LORD.

Perseverance of the Saints;

What God begins, He finishes;

Psa 138:8 The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands.
Ecc 3:14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it:
and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.
Isa 46:4 And even to your old age I am he; and even to hoar hairs will I carry you:
I have made, and I will bear; even I will carry, and will deliver you.
Jer 32:40 And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do them good;
but I will put my fear in their hearts, that they shall not depart from me.

#1 - There is no Bible teaching called the doctrines of grace in either Testament. It is a made up system of theology.

#2 - God in his sovereignty has chosen his providence to deal with fallen humanity in time. This gives him the platform to demonstrate his Divine attributes and wisdom and glory while allowing men the free will choice of whom they will serve.

#3 Conclusion: your approach is religious, not biblical.

Re 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

My point is proven if all things do not bring the creator pleasure.

The free-will position can do exactly the same and have just as many passages.

Dear Alan, Your post beautifully captures the weight of our human condition and the awe-inspiring sovereignty of God. The scriptures you shared remind us how deeply sin has affected us all, leaving us unable to find our way back to God without His gracious intervention. It’s a humbling truth, one that stirs both sorrow for our fallen state and gratitude for God’s unending mercy. The doctrine of Total Depravity shows us the depth of our need, but it also points us to the hope found in God’s outstretched hand.

Your exploration of Unconditional Election highlights the comfort of knowing that God, in His infinite wisdom and love, chooses us not because of our merit but because of His divine purpose. This truth can feel overwhelming, yet it’s also a source of peace, reminding us that our salvation rests securely in His unchanging will. The verses you’ve chosen, like Psalm 65:4, paint a picture of a God who lovingly calls His people to Himself, offering them a place in His presence.

I’d like to add that these truths invite us to lean into God’s grace daily. When we recognize our inability to save ourselves, it fosters a heart of repentance and reliance on Him. For those struggling with feelings of unworthiness or despair, these doctrines can be a gentle reminder that God’s love is not earned but freely given. We can find strength in prayer and scripture to navigate the challenges of our fallen nature, trusting that God is at work in us.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful reflection. It encourages us all to rest in God’s sovereignty and seek His guidance in our journey toward holiness.

#1 - There is no Bible teaching called the doctrines of grace in either Testament. It is a made up system of theology.
Doctrine means teaching. Are you suggesting there is no teaching of God's grace in either testament?
#2 - God in his sovereignty has chosen his providence to deal with fallen humanity in time.
Did God have a plan and purpose before time?
This gives him the platform to demonstrate his Divine attributes and wisdom and glory while allowing men the free will choice of whom they will serve.
Fallen men are bound in a self will that is sinful, not free.
#3 Conclusion: your approach is religious, not biblical.
your conclusion is philosophical and not scriptural at all.
Re 4:11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

My point is proven if all things do not bring the creator pleasure.
God gets all the glory as he carries out His decree.

No, that is not what I said. There is no doctrines, plural, of grace, in either testament. There is a doctrine of grace and it is an attribute of God. He exercises his grace as a matter of his person so therefore we can see his acts of grace in both testaments. In a perfect world we would not be able to see it.
Not only is it an attribute of his person but in this age between the cross and his coming, it is a display of his wisdom as it is the operative principle of his Divine dealing with men called "THE" dispensation of grace by the apostle Paul as he explains it in his 13 letters to the nations. Even the heavenly host experiences jaw dropping incredulity by their heavenly observation of God's formation of the church of Jesus Christ, his body and his bride. See Note #1 below.

Did God have a plan and purpose before time?
See Ephesians 3:11 below and honor the context.
Fallen men are bound in a self will that is sinful, not free.
Your doctrine of man is askew and I am exercising my will by pointing it out to you.
your conclusion is philosophical and not scriptural at all.

God is not glorified by sending men to hell. See note #2 below.

It is not too late to repent of this bad teaching you have embraced.

8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
10 To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly places might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God,

Of course there is. There is more than one manifestation of God's grace. There are plural examples of Grace.
Noah finding grace in the eyes of the Lord.
God singling out The Nations of Israel
God preserving an elect remnant in that nation.
God preserving lot from the totally depraved perverts in that city.
God having an elect servant to come for both Jew and gentile
God preserving the godly line throughout the sin and rebellion of idolatrous and rebellious Israelites.
God sending prophets to warn of the wrath to come

He certainly is;
In sum, hell glorifies God because

  • it shows how unspeakably merciful he is to those who trust him;
  • it upholds the reality of love by visiting justice against those who reject God, who is love;
  • it vindicates all who suffered to hear or proclaim the truth of God’s word;

God's attribute of grace, if it is a part of his Divine character, is not diminished because of his other Divine attributes. What was grace in your examples for the justified were examples of his justice for others, not for what they thought but for what they did. Neither grace nor justice were the operative principles of divine dealing among all men on the earth in your examples but in this age between the cross and resurrection of Jesus Christ and his coming, grace is the operative principle and God, during this time, is not exacting justice in proportion to sin. He did that in one man, Jesus, for all men at one time. We can rejoice for that.

Hell, the lake of fire, is the only place in the creation of the omnipresent God where he chooses not to be. None of his personal attributes are in that place like light, rest, joy, peace, comfort, fellowship, water, etc. etc. This is the reason it is hell.
Right back at you my friend. You have not laid hold of the true teaching yet.
I truly have. My hope is not in a hazy and undefined ethereal selection because of my preferred status with God but in the person, Jesus Christ, who was capable and willing to exchange his righteous status before God for my sins and the penalty for them, death and separation from God, and then, because there were no sins of his own to hold him, God raised him from the dead, as he will all people who have died without any sins charged to their account.
I hope you can brag on Jesus as much as you brag on your own worth in the eyes of God.

The free-will position can do exactly the same and have just as many passages.
The 'free-will' position is utterly dependent on mindless contradictions and an unshakable devotion to illiteracy,
most importantly, in observing an absolute obliviousness to any context in any way, under any circumstances, using "private interpretation",
including viewing, considering, and searching the Scriptures to have Eternal Life, which could be Eternally Fatal.

There is only one way of Salvation and it is through God Being Sovereign and not a purifying, wicked worm
that they refuse to own up to or tell anyone else about.

X-"not of him that willeth" means, "it is of him that willeth".

X-"so no man can boast" means, "so an individual intelligent, and smart, and godly enough (or whatever they make up),
can boast all they want, 27/7/365"
, until they meet eye-to-eye with Jesus Christ and their mouth is stopped.

X-"you hath He Quickened who were dead"
means, "you were not dead and God did not have to Quicken you Spiritually, because you got this".

X-"all" when preceding or following a pronoun, 'all' must be followed by 'of' ('all of' them, not 'all of' them, or 'all of' us, where 'of' is implied),
so,
"us all" means, "all the entire Human Race since the time of Adam, including all those who are in Hell, or who will go to Hell."

X-The word "world" means what the word "world" means in its context, but 'really' means
the word "world" means only what it can be made to mean by pulling it out of the Bible into isolation,
then recreating for it a self-serving lie as 'the only definition set in concret', necessary to cling to and 'die on that hill',
if needed to support the fakest, phonyest, fraudulent, False Free-Will Herecy
THAT DEMANDS TO BE BELIEVED AS THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT GOD TEACHES
and then placing it back into the Bible, with that
"private interpretation".

X
-etc., etc., etc.

Proof of this is you never hear of anyone who's fasted and prayed over the scriptures seeking God's Face on their knees over the weekend,
to settle them on what He would have them to understand and believe, in the same way they'll be Judged for what they believe.

All I ever hear out of anyone is to "believe the man-made philosophies I tell you and not God." It is practically unbelievable.

No thanks.

The problem here is you are starting with an idea and then going to Scripture for support
I'd have to start before Eternity Past. I'd have to start before the Counsel Hall of Eternity,
when, in the Whole Counsel and Manifest Wisdom of God the Triune Godhead Devised the overall Eternal Plan of Salvation.

That is when They and Established those Divine Teachings of the Doctrines of The Covenant of Grace,
into each of their Foreseen Embodiments of How God Saves Souls to be contained within each of Their Writen Revealed Revelations,
in the Old and Testaments, to be Generated by Them in the Future, in Time, which They actually Created at the same Time, in the Mind of God.

Since God had already Forseen Himself Transcribing the Doctrines of Grace in Their Full Embodiment of Truth from Eternity Past, in His Own Words, I couldn't start with T.U.L.I.P. as an idea then go to the scriptures for support, because 1.) they were already Dripping with the Blood of Jesus all throughout the Old and/or New Testament, as Planned Forever, and B.) nothing could have ever happened before the Triune Godhead's Counsel of the Doctrines of Grace, in the Infinite Past. And not me, for sure, except in the Mind of God, also.

Thank you for sharing such a thoughtful reflection. It encourages us all to rest in God’s sovereignty and seek His guidance in our journey toward holiness
That is exactly what they are for. Praise the Lord! for them AND FOR HIM REVEALING THEM TO US, iwllblesstheLord.

#1 - There is no Bible teaching called the doctrines of grace in either Testament. It is a made up system of theology.

The Covenant of Grace, and therefore, The Teachings or Doctrines of Grace, was a Compact in Eternity,
between the three Divine Persons, Father, Son, and Spirit
in which each Person agreed to take His part in the Economy of man's Salvation.

The word 'doctrine' has to do with something teachable. You do not have a "teachable spirit".

Otherwise, you would be familiar with The Covenant of Grace.

Maybe you need to call it, "the Law of Faith"(Romans 3:27e), instead.

This is from:

The 1689 London Baptist Confession of Faith,

Chapter 7. Of God's Covenant;

1.) The distance between God and the creature is so great that, although reasonable creatures do owe Obedience to Him as their Creator,
yet they could never have attained the Reward of Life but by some Voluntary Condescension on God's Part,
which He hath been Pleased to express by way of Covenant. 1

1. Luke 17:10; Job 35:7,8,

2.) Moreover, man having brought himself under the Curse of the Law by his Fall, it Pleased the Lord to Make a Covenant of Grace, 2
wherein He Freely Offers unto sinners Life and Salvation by Jesus Christ, requiring of them Faith in Him, that they may be Saved; 3
and Promising to Give unto all those that are Ordained unto Eternal Life, His Holy Spirit, to Make them willing and able to believe. 4

2. Genesis 2:17;
"But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die."

Galatians 3:10; "For as many as are of the works of the Law are under the Curse: for it is written,
Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the Book of the Law to do them."

Romans 3:20-31;
20 "Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

21 "But now the Righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

22 "Even the Righteousness of God which is by Faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God;

24 "Being Justified Freely by His Grace through the Redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 "Whom God hath set forth to be a Propitiation through Faith in his blood,
to declare His Righteousness for the Remission of sins that are past, through the Forbearance of God;

26 "To declare, I say, at this time His Righteousness: that He might beJjust, and the Justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

27 "Where is boasting then? It is excluded.
By what Law? of works? Nay: but by the Law of Faith.

28 "Therefore we conclude that a man is Justified by Faith without the deeds of the Law.

29 "Is He the God of the Jews only? is He not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:

30 "Seeing it is One God, which shall Justify the circumcision by Faith, and uncircumcision through Faith."

31 "Do we then make void the Law through Faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the Law".

3. Romans 5:12-19; 1 Corinthians 15:21-22, 45, 49, 4. Romans 8:3; Mark 16:15-16; John 3:16,

3.) This Covenant is Revealed in the Gospel; first of all to Adam in the Promise of Salvation by the Seed of the woman,
5 and afterwards by further steps, until the full discovery thereof was completed in the New Testament;
6 and it is founded in that Eternal Covenant Transaction that was between the Father and the Son about the Redemption of the Elect;
7 and it is alone by the Grace of this Covenant that all the Posterity of fallen Adam that ever were Saved did Obtain Life and Blessed Immortality, man being now utterly incapable of acceptance with God upon those terms on which Adam stood in his State of Innocency. 8

5. Genesis 3:15, 6. Hebrews 1:1, 7. 2 Timothy 1:9; Titus 1:2, 8. Hebrews 11:6,13; Romans 4:1-2ff.; Acts 4:12; John 8:56.

But they could say the same of Calvinism (that Calvinists are utterly dependent on mindless contradictions" as Calvinism contradicts many passages concerning free-will (as each interprets them).

As far as the rest, they are meaningless insults from a shallow mindset (they are beneath your character).

Free-will theologians are very scholarly. They are very literate and studied. Many are relied upon for their expertise in languages by Calvinists (Fee woukd be one). Many are praised by Calvinists (Moody would be one).

I disagree with them, but to degrade a brother in Christ is a step too far, especially when applying your own standard they can do the same to you (your position is no more or less biblical). This type of "argument" is one for people who have exhausted all legitimate options. It is admitting defeat.

Oh, so to meet your standards, we have include 'God' in the name, to make a confirmation to everyone
that it is God Who has the Attribute of singular 'Grace'.

God's Eternal Doctrines
of God's Attribute of God's Eternal Grace.

I like that a lot.

From:

A Body of Doctrinal & Practical Divinity

By John Gill

DOCTRINAL DIVINITY ~ BOOK II

OF THE ACTS AND WORKS OF GOD.

John Gill does an extensive treatment, as always, of the Covenant of Grace, which is The Everlasting Covenant of Grace,
where, all things being equal, I essentially consider myself somewhere between a 125 and into the 500s-Point Grace Preacher.

When you include all of the actual DOCTRINES encompassed within this TEACHING, of The Doctrines of Grace
it would make me about a 546-Point 'Calvinist'. Don't let the fact that this Eternal System of Doctrines
was reduced at one time to the 5-Point acryonym thing rob you of the Manifold Wisdom and Whole Counsel of God.

Then, continuing, we have;
"The Manifestation and Administration of the Covenant of Grace"

Having treated of the sin and fall of our first parents, and of the breach of the covenant of works by them, and of the sad effects thereof to themselves, and of the woeful consequences of the same to their posterity; of the imputation of their sin, and of the derivation of a corrupt nature unto them; and of actual sins and transgressions flowing from thence, and of the punishment due unto them: I am now come to the dawn of Grace to fallen man, to the breakings forth and application of the Covenant of Grace, and the blessings of it to the spiritual seed of Christ among the posterity of Adam.

"I have considered the Covenant of Grace in a former part of this work, (above) as it was a Compact in Eternity,
between the three divine persons, Father, Son, and Spirit;
in which each person agreed to take his part in the economy of man's salvation:

"and now I shall consider the Administration of that Covenant in the various periods of time,
from the beginning of the world to the end of it.

"The Covenant of Grace is but one and the same in all Ages, of which Christ is the Substance;
being given for "a Covenant of the people", of all the people of God, both Jews and Gentiles,
Who is "the Same" in the "yesterday" of the Old Testament, and in the "today" of the New Testament, and "forever";

"Jesus is "the Way, the Truth, and the Life", the only True Way to Eternal Life;
and there never was any other way made known to men since the fall of Adam;
no other name under Heaven has been Given, or Will be Given, by which men can be Saved.

"The Patriarchs before the flood and after, before the Law of Moses and under it, before the Coming of Christ,

and all the saints since, are Saved in One and the Same Way, even "by the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ";
and that is the Grace of the Covenant, exhibited at different times, and in "Divers Manners".

"For though the Covenant is but one, there are different Administrations of it; particularly two, one before the Coming of Christ, and the other after it; which lay the foundation for the distinction of the "first" and "second", the "old" and the "new" covenant
, observed by the author of the epistle to the Hebrews, #Heb 8:7,8,13 9:1,15 12:24 for by the first and old covenant, is not meant the covenant of works made with Adam, which had been broke and abrogated long ago; since the apostle is speaking of a covenant waxen old, and ready to vanish away in his time: nor was the covenant of works the first and most ancient covenant; the Covenant of Grace, as an eternal compact, was before that; but by it is meant the first and most ancient administration of the Covenant of Grace which reached from the fall of Adam, when the Covenant of Works was broke, unto the Coming of Christ, when it was superseded and vacated by another Administration of the same Covenant, called therefore the "Second" and "New" Covenant.

"The one we commonly call the Old Testament dispensation, and the other the New Testament dispensation; for which there seems to be some foundation in #2Co 3:6,14 #Heb 9:15 these two Covenants, or rather the two Administrations of the same Covenant, are allegorically represented by two women, Hagar and Sarah, the bondwoman and the free, #Ga 4:22-26 which fitly describe the nature and difference of them. And before I proceed any farther, I shall just point out the agreement and disagreement of those two administrations of the Covenant of Grace."

etc., etc., etc, etc.

Thank you for your help in your posts in proving that no doctrine called the doctrines of grace exists in the holy scriptures. Two other of Calvinism's catch phrases do not exist, either in word or application. They are 1) sovereign grace, and 2), irresistible grace. They are bogus doctrines that have no legitimacy in the word of God.

Jn 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
40 And ye will not come to me, that ye might have life.
Ye will to not come to me, etc. etc.

In the years I have interacted with the Reformed I have come to my own conclusion and opinion that there is no doctrine in their Calvinistic system, when scripturally defined, that is true. Not a one. Calvinism is illogical and unreasonable and unintelligent.

The word 'doctrine' has to do with something teachable. You do not have a "teachable spirit".

Otherwise, you would be familiar with The Covenant of Grace.
AI Overview:

"A teachable spirit refers to a mindset and attitude of humility and openness to learning and correction. It's characterized by a willingness to listen, learn from others, and embrace new perspectives, even when those perspectives differ from one's own. This quality is highly valued in personal, spiritual, and professional development."

no doctrine called the doctrines of grace

ye will not come to me, that ye might have life

1) sovereign grace, and 2), irresistible grace.
Since a sinner will not come to Jesus Christ so that they may have Eternal Life, the Sovereign Father God of the Universe has to Draw them with His Eternally Giving Grace, otherwise, no man comes unto Jesus Christ unless His Father Draws them with Irresistable Grace.

You don't have any clue about what the Bible Teaches on How God Saves Souls.
Maybe you need to call it, "the Law of Faith"(Romans 3:27e), instead.
Otherwise, all you have as an alternative is a Covenant of Works, which is Eternally Fatal and results in the Second Death in the Lake of Fire.
There is no alternative to the Eternal Doctrines of Grace. There is no 'Covenant of Works'.
God's Eternal Doctrines
of God's Attribute of God's Eternal Grace.

Thank you for your help in your posts in proving that no doctrine called the doctrines of grace exists in the holy scriptures.
"We believe that God (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit) saves sinners.

"How we try to explain that, can best be summarized in 5 points called the Doctrines of Grace. Now, before I start let me give you a quote by an author named W. E. Best.

"Every Bible subject must be viewed from a Biblical, not a denominational, perspective. Any subject presented from a denominational perspective is prejudicial. Undue reverence for any institution is a sure precipice to destruction. Biblical data on any given subject should be gathered before ideas and opinions are formed. It should not be made to conform to preconceived ideas or opinions. Truth is not found in error, and knowledge is never found in ignorance ."

You don't know what God's perspective on sin is.

"The first point where most people go astray is the Total Depravity of Man.

"That is, man in his unregenerate state is not able to make any righteous decisions.
All of our righteous acts (before regeneration) are as filthy rags.

"Here are a few verses for you to ponder:

Genesis 8:21 And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man’s sake; for the imagination of man’s heart [is] evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

Psalms 58:3 The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies.

Ecclesiastes 9:3 This [is] an evil among all [things] that are done under the sun, that [there is] one event unto all:
yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness [is] in their heart while they live, and after that [they go] to the dead.

Romans 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin;
and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Romans 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
8 So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.

1 Corinthians 2:14 But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him:
neither can he know [them], because they are spiritually discerned.

(the word 'can' in this verse above is talking about our ability.
We don't have the ability in our unregenerate state to receive or know the things of the Spirit of God)

Ephesians 2:1 And you [hath he quickened], who were dead in trespasses and sins;
2 Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air,

the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
3 Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh,
fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind;

and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
