And there was that whole thing called WWI in which the French partook from the start with you guys being rather late to the party

Better late than never for the Brits and the French, especially the French.

France was beatedn and the Germans were on the verge of winning the war when we intervened, which we probably shouldn't have.

Actually the Germans were not doing so well, which is why they had to retreat to the Hindenburg Line and launch unrestricted submarine warfare which brought you into the war

All the US had to do was cut off supplies to Great Britain. Game over.

Actually the Germans had the upper hand in the war. It was a huge mistake on their part to go to the unrestricted submarine warfare that caused us to enter the war. Between the time we declared war and the time our troops were actually committed to battle, the French position had worsened dramatically. The Germans were driving to Paris and the French were on the retreat.
